The Powers That Be have fired Jorja Fox and George Eads (Sara and Nick, respectively) from the show CSI.

How do some fans react? By signing this petition. Evidently at one point in the comments, someone starts spreading the rumour that George was fired because he'd been caught having sex with a man in his trailer.

I was expecting this to become wanky.... Well, at least my beloved CSI is a fairly wank-free fandom most of the time. I really don't care about Sara being fired, since I was getting sick of the implied Grissom/Sara relationship, but Nicky is one of my favourite characters! And no more Gil/Nick slashiness!

I can think of a few people who'll probably be throwing a 'Ding dong the bitch is dead' party to celebrate getting rid of Sara, so I'm just waiting for a few of those folk to start. That said, in the one episode of CSI I ever watched, she did annoy me.

I am really pissed about this, don't get me wrong (I love Sara to bits, though I know she's not the most popular character...eh, what can I say, I have a habit of liking female characters others find bitchy), but JEEZ, simmer.

a) petitions do no good
b) sending the same letter 80 times from the same address? just going to annoy people
c) TV show!!!

I also think it's, um, interesting that the two cast members who get fired are the two who have gay rumours attached. Heh. omg CBS are HOMOPHOBES!!!

Personally, I like both characters (even if this season introduced many retarded subplots which did their damndest to make me hate them both), but I'm pretty sure CBS has its mind made up.

I'm skeptical, but I'll give the replacements a chance. Maybe this is Greg's big chance to be one of the "cool kids"...

That's a shame, because I like Sara and Nick. Actually, I like all the characters. On the other hand, CSI has pretty decent writers, so perhaps the replacement characters will be good too, provide some fresh material, and shake things up a bit.

No, sorry. What am I saying? All new characters on shows are by definition boring, bad and NOTHING LIKE as good as THE CHARACTERS WE LOVE, and the actors who play then are evil job-stealing BASTARDS.

I think most who heard it reacted like this;
A. relieved that Sara was gone
B. raised an eyebrow and continues their merry way

This is all their fault. Now every freaking cast on a hit show thinks they can ask for more money. I'd much rather hear Phebe sing "Smelly Cat" again than hire these two back on "CSI".

The difference is that "Friends" centered around the six friends, while CSI centers around the cases, not the actors.

The dead bodies should be getting a million dollars per episode any day now.
