Spider....baby?
http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=17965

In a brief interview with Kirsten Dunst she says that she has no plans to be in a fourth or fifth Spider-Man movie and muses on the idea of killing off Spider-Man and having Mary Jane carry his 'spider' baby.

I'm not making this up.

Naturally this explodes in wank in the comments, everything from 'Dunst sucks' to 'kids today don't read comics'.

I think I'll let PA's Gabe speak for me on this one....

See, it's only silly fans like me who thought that was hella funny and don't believe she was actually serious.

Yep, I'm a silly fan too and thought it was funny and she was just kidding.

Why have people to be fundamentalists about every little thing? *sighs*

Um, does anybody else think that it might not be a bad idea to kill off Spider-Man? When done well, a superhero death is always just.... Wow.

I'm not into Spider-Man fandom and I was surprised that everyone (like the commenters on AICN) seemed to hate Kirsten Dunst... Does she lose some sort of credibility as Mary Jane just because she hasn't read the comics? Whatever happened to acting well in her role? That doesn't matter anymore?

In my case it's simply that I like Spiderman and I don't want to see him die.

As for Dunst I think she does a good MJ however the 'spider-baby' idea just seems to stupid for words.

However they're not paying her to write the scripts.

(and if you don't know who Gwen Stacy is, READ A BOOK)

... you mean those big stacks of paper with all words and now pictures? Sounds like some of these people should take their own advice. Hell, I'm all for manga/comics as I own tons of them, but getting this upset about one actress' comment about changing the storyline is really kind of ridiculous. But, of course, that's why they end up here. ^^;;

It's not a new trick for any of the characters and super heroes to die. It's keeping them dead that's the problem.

I say, kill off Mary Jane. I never liked that woman anyway - I like Dunst just fine, just never liked the character in the comics or anything else.

If Dunst doesn't wanna be in more Spidey flicks, then why not just kill off that character? ^_^ Let her pop out a sprog and have Harry Osborn run away with it and let Peter think the kid's dead. ^_~ Then bring it back when it's out of the terrible twos and in the cute-and-capable-of-acting-like-a-human stage, and woo, more angst for Petey!

For some reason this reminds me of this guy I used to date who went off on me verbally for, like, fifteen minutes because I suggested that it would be interesting to see who would win if Spiderman and The Crow had a fight....

He also mocked me for not knowing the name of Andrew Eldritch's cat. Dating fanboys can be so tedious.

Or is it just in a pram?
