MEAN HOMOPHOBIC PPLZ!
Not anything that unusual, but it's fun! Homophobic guy talks to self-righteous gay woman's girlfriend, and everything goes to shit.

everyone and their mother should read this.

Yes, this is technically [info]otf_wank, except for the fact that the person posted the conversation that everyone and their mothers should read in a community for the Queer as Folk tv show. Questions are asked. I thought that she'd accidentally posted something that she meant to post in her personal journal, but no, she actually double-posted the same thing to her own journal. Then, there's this and it's own double-post. Also, counter-wank from the guy. I'm sure there's loads of fun stuff in the comments, but haven't had a chance to read them yet.

Oh, I forgot to say this is first time I posted, BUT LOLOL I AM A NEWBIE DUN HURT ME OMG LOLZ.

ETA: Right, in the process of reading some comments. I love these people. NEVER use the word queer around me again... yes my icon has two gay men in it SO WHAT? ur user name is root beer? does that make u a bottle Of rootbeer?

My eyes are bleeding...

if you cant reason enough to debate properly, what makes you think you can properly raise a child?

I have to give the guy the fact that he can spell mostly everything correctly, and understands that grammar does exist in places.

This man hates all gays because a man touched him when he was 8 and he thinks other people have mental problems?

Hmmmmmm.

Oh my god, when I was thirteen I was sexually assaulted by a straight man! This must mean I should hate all straight men! Because, as we all know, straight men have been warring, raping, and torturing since the beginning of time. In fact, straight men were behind most of the worst atrocities visited upon mankind. Well from now on I may socialize with heterosexual men, but I will never stop to consider their social issues. They don't deserve it, those sick fucking beasts.

Except... no.

Take that attitude and kindly stuff it.

Sexual abuse/molestation is not some minor thing. Disagree with his views to your heart's content, but leave the fucking "haha he's effected by it that's ridiculous" tone out of it.

...As totally wrong that guy was about gay couples raising children, he really came off as the smart one in that conversation. He was calm and reasonable and respectful of her opinion... I'm really not sure what to think about this! I completely disagree with pretty much everything he said, but his opposition actually said "i can't have an intelligent conversation with u"!

I think this is just one of those "you make my side look stupid" things...

I have to agree, actually. I mean, his initial rant about homosexuality was very much a rant, and deeply mistaken, and incoherent, and made him look like a bigoted jerk. But looking at the AIM conversation that the girl in question posted thinking that it showed him as an asshole, he comes across very differently.

It looks like he's bitterly hurt and furious after having started off being polite and genuinely trying to understand her views. I feel kind of sorry for the guy.

It was so freaky, I skipped straight to the AIM conversation and just watched this rational, thoughtful-sounding guy descend into rabid homophobia. I wasn't sure who to dislike more by the end.

To be fair simply being able to spell doesn't make one a genius or automatically 'right' in internet arguments.

I hate netspeak but I'm still gonna side with the angry lesbian.

Tis a pity he can't use his powers for good and not evil.

A friend of mine knew a girl who thought much like this - when she discovered that I liked the girls as well as the boys, she refused to allow me into her house because I might rape her children. Because, you know, we bisexuals have to rape a certain number of children per month to keep our Disgusting Sexual Deviant card renewed.

Yeah, I really missed her company a lot. Only not.

Man, that was a fun misconception to try and convince my mother just wasn't true. -_-;;

only i knew she was gay when i met her. it's not like i turned into some "rabid homophobe" the second i met her. i had my opinions, she knew them, and i kept them to myself and our friendship was great. she then decided she didn't want or need my friendship just because i thought that gays shouldn't be allowed to marry. i'd never talked about gays the way i did in that post until those bitches did what they did.

another exerpt from someone else who knows these "women":

Aandwrootb33r had some gay friends. Two lesbians living with each other, to be more specific. He hung with them and thought they were fun to chill with. But he opens his mouth to say he's voting for Bush, and they pounce on him because Bush is so anti-gay rights. They scream at him and call him a bigot and racist and all those other unjustified stereotypes for conservatives just because he does not believe gays should have the right to marriage by federal law.

I have tons of friends that are planning on voting for that scum Kerry, but you don't see me attacking them!

These girls throw relentless amounts of insults at him, even when they were in training on the job! In fact, one of them is inevitably going to lose her job for her lack of professionalism in the work place.

So he posts this entry on his livejournal specifically explaining his viewpoint (which many of you don't agree with) and getting back at his attackers, and every last person that has posted a reply to his entry is a total idiot. They have misinterpreted his rant of anger GROSSLY and none of them have chosen to logically debate the topic with an acceptable level of maturity."

i know who posted that personally, and i can say that she's spot on. she knows what's up.

you people do not. do not assume to be correct just because this appears to be a "conservative vs. liberal and the liberal always wins because the conservative is always a bigot" ticket. because it's not. grow up and see both sides before you jump in and run your gums.

How sad is it when the homophobe makes more sense? Both of them are so messed up it's hard to decide which side I'm even on. I can understand that it must be annoying to be called "close-minded" just because he isn't okay with a lifestyle, which seems to be the case in the IM. However his post doesn't seem to say that quite as much. Ugh. My conclusion is that both people are rather stupid.

Well, if the shoe fits...

Honestly, I have no pity for people who pass judgment on things that are absolutely none of their business, then complain that OMG, people aren't being tolerant of their intolerance! To me, not being "okay with" other people's homosexual lifestyles is being closed-minded-- there's not a single reason to condemn homosexuality that doesn't involve bigotry, incorrect stereotypes, or an attempt to force everyone to live by a certain set of religious beliefs. Plus, it's frankly none of his damn business-- it doesn't hurt anyone and really has no effect on his life as a straight person, so why exactly is it his (or anyone's) place to not be "okay with" it?

I'm a bit disappointed as I was expecting the homophobe to be a good argumentor. Sure, "Jeccika" or whatever her oddly-spelled name is and her girl are quite poor with teh keyboard, but Mr. Molested is pretty damn subpar himself.

I mean, isn't it dyke, not dike? Aren't dikes those lovely stone constructs the Dutch mastered while the Brits were still messing around with fences? If you're going to insult someone, and repeatedly at that, at least spell it correctly!
