Here we go again...
Hear ye, hear ye: The Wank strikes back!

Previously, on Fandom Wank:

Episode I: The Wankdom Menace

Today's Daily Dose of Star Wars Wankage, wherein the SEs are compared to the Special Olympics. *headdesk* Please, please get out of my fandom. [/mini-wank]

Episode II: Attack of the Wank

And a "lighten up, will ya?" follow up.

Episode III: Revenge of the Wank

Is it just me guys, or are we all in denial that all our wanks money really belong to George anyway?

I love the comment asking whether fans have "so little faith in George." Yeah, I have faith in George. Faith that he'll fuck up anything he touches. Faith that given the choice, he'll take his own canon, twist it sideways, and have his way with its behind. Faith that if he makes a villain, he will have no respect for it whatsoever. Faith that he'll take something he thinks is "cute" and let it take over the plot, just so he has something to merchandise on Christmas. Faith in George? Yeah, got plenty of that.

Just checking...which "George" are we talking about here?

What gets me is people reacting like this is news. George has been fucking with his own canon since ESB came out. He's a hack writer with a talent for world buuilding and making things that look good.

*rolls eyes*

PS: Icon love OMG!

Yeah, I agree. My rant isn't anything new, I just get to pull it off the shelf every couple of years, dust it off, and post it. No spooge like old spooge. ;)

Star Wars fandom wank - nothing says "I care" as much as "he can't write and he can't direct actors for shit."

Hee! I mean really how can anyone think a director's all that and a bag of chips when he can make a movie that utterly wastes the considerable talents of Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson and Sam Jackson?

And that's coming from someone who saw TPM 17 times in the theater.

Heck, there's probably a group of Star Wars fans out there planning an intervention if Lucas decides to write or direct again after RotS.

*wishes she had saved the article she found in which Carrie Fisher said that the only direction Lucas gave the actors was "faster" and "more passionate".*

LOL! I remember her and Harrison Ford saying that--I think whichever one said it when I heard it it was "faster" and "more intense."

They said they thought they should just get him a light board and he could just flash the red light for "faster" and the green one for "more intensely" so he wouldn't have to talk.

Yes! That was it "more intense".

Is it this?

Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia in the original trilogy, has said that “When George was directing, he'd only say two things: 'faster' or 'more intense.'”

It's not the original interview, but damn, that's a great quote from Carrie Fisher, of all people.

And then there's this one, in which she says:

"It was the only time he gave me lengthy direction other then 'Faster, more intense.'"

There's so many snarky jokes to be made, yet I can't come up with a single one. Maybe that George Lucas would be far better off directing porn than Star Wars? That'll work for now.

Yes, the first link is the exact article I read. I liked the suggestion of distracting Lucas, then locking him up and replacing him with a better writer and director. Mostly because I had suggested something similar to a friend after seeing Ep2. :D (although my plan involved distracting Lucas with some shiny computer graphics)

Didn't Southpark already try an intervention? I remember an episode about that and it was soooooooo true! XD

The cut out of the Ewok celebration music?

The Greedo thing was... odd, but any fit of creative remorse that results in less of the Ewok Tabernacle Choir is a good thing.

I had to sing the Ewok song in my school chorus one year.

And, since I graduated in 1989, that meant I had to sing it in high school. Picture, if you will, a high school sophomore being forced to sing the words "Yub nub" over and over again. In public.

And weep for me.

This may sound kind of stupid, but doesn't everybody realise that without Lucas there would be no Star Wars?
