RPG wanklet, passed along by a friend
A player's leaving a game and there's apparently "issues" because one misstep in a "goodbye" post and the claws come right out. Mun=player and pup=character. Quotes:

"Yeah, you cared about your Mary Sue getting laid by Sean Bean, and when that didn't happen you proceeded to ignore the game and then whine about how nobody liked you. Whatever."

"Aren't you the ray of sunshine?"

"Scratch the apology. It's useless anyway."

"The problem was never with the pup, but with the fact that the mun was universally hated."

"To be honest I don't care enough about you to hate you."

"And yeah, I'm being a total bitch. At this point, I don't give a shit."

It's short and simple. Feel the love.

Seems a good enough place to ask... I gathered that a "mun" is a player, but what does it stand for? And what is a "twink"? And "pup?"

Clueless ... what do the online gamers call it, "table top"?... face-to-face-only gamer here.

"Mun" - I think it stands for "mundane" as in the mundane person behind the character.

"Pup" - Puppet. The character played by the mun.

"Twink" - Fairly widespread description of a pretty young man, usually late teenage or early twenties and often a gay male equivalent of bimbo. Its usage is not confined to fandom.

And the real life interaction type role playing games are usually referred to as "table top" games, yes.

In the RPG groups I've been involved with a Twink was a powergamer/min-max player who abused the rules of the game.

TY, both of you. :) Yes, that was sorta the sense I was getting out of "Twink" in the place I saw it, but I wasn't quite sure.

Not even going to *start* on the use of the word "mundane" in that context. Or any context. *grumble*

I've also heard "mun" can stand for "human" (hyu-MUN). And yeah, two meanings for "twink"... :)

Thank you. That picture was made when I was out of the country, and wrote home to my sister that I missed my cat, and could she send me a picture of him, please. Apparently, she could not find one, nor a functioning camera, so she tried to scan him. He was not cooperative. Hence, cat butt.

From what I can tell, this chick decided to join the Establishment specifically because she wanted to work with the Sean pup, so she chose a character who had worked with Sean in RL, without regard to the character of Sean within the Est. Then she got mad because her Est. character didn't fit the profile of the characters Est. Sean interacts with, and decided it meant that everyone in the game hated her and that no one wanted to play with her, so she announced more than once that she was giving up the game, and only now finally followed through.

I'm not involved, though, so I could have a detail or two wrong, but that's just what I gathered from reading the journal entries linked to in the main entry.

That's it in a nutshell. It's actually very hard to run a female pup in the Est and her choice of an actress with hardly any connections to any pups other than Bean was pretty telling. I mean really, you'd think that if you really wanted to make a go of a girl pup in a game with a lot of Lotrips actors, you'd bring in Liv or Miranda, neither of whom were in the game at the time.

Awww poor baby her Sue Pup didn't get fucked by Sean even though she went to all that trouble of making a character for that sole reason.
