fun, games, and racial slurs in backstreet land
Sarah Martin, AJ Mclean's ex-fiance posts on her website and uses the "N" word.

The teenies on LiveDaily discuss. Sarah's rabid fans supporters scramble to explain it and then get embroiled in personal attacks, like they always do.

Fun highlights include:
-discussion of the difference between race and ethnicity
-debate over whether Sarah is half black or not, including a comment from AJ's father stating he's met both her parents and neither are black
-someone claiming that AJ has used the "N" word too, and declarations from people who would lose respect for him if he really did
-oodles of flaming
-and the obligatory "my best friend is black and sarah loves her to death"

Uh...they're saying 'Nigga' is a racial slur? Did i miss something? It's not like she said, 'Nigger', which i could understand someone would be upset by.

The context 'nigga'is used in implies a generic farewell...not meant to addressing or bashing a certain race. If they said 'so long, honky', it wouldn't bother me. She's just saying what is a common phrase among certain groups. I seriously doubt they're candidates for white sheets and pointy hoods.

I think lost in there somewhere is that regardless of how it's spelled or it's intended use, there are always going to be a bunch of people offended if you use it. Except most people in that discussion can't seem to articulate that very well.

Oh, i get that, believe me. I went to a small and very racially mixed college where the racism card was played on a regular basis for the most ridiculous things. So believe me, i know how some people just need to be offended, even if no offense is meant.

You know it's a good flamewar when it's got celebrities participating.
