On the one hand... yes. If you want to be historically accurate, Peace Maker Kurogane is right out.

On the other hand: It's Peace Maker Kurogane. Saitou Hajime is an onmyouji. The main character is a kid who's mentioned once or twice vaguely in historical record. He's got red hair. IN MEIJI JAPAN. Okita Souji has an attack pig, dresses like a woman and kind of acts like one, too. Yamazaku Susumu's been changed from a capable investigations officer to rather inept fifteen year old shinobi. Don't get me started on Suzu and his cats.

I'm as much a Shinsengumi and Japanese history buff as these wankers, but come on. Historical fiction is just that: fiction! It's for fun. leave it alone.

It's like arguing that the percentage of gay werewolves is statistically insignificant, and therefore all Remus/Sirius fic should be banned.

... one wonders what this boy would think of all these books I've got in which the fact that homosexuality was incredibly commonplace amongst the Japanese monks is mentioned mainly in passing, as if the authors all felt it was so much in the common knowledge that they didn't have to qualify it any more than that.

It's SO HARD for me to not jump into this wank and point out that homosexuality WAS quite common place in Japan, but it's never mentioned in text books because it was glossed over and ignored for a very long time by even the Japanese because of Christian influence and so forth. It was THERE, people just liked to pretend it wasn't.

Also, I would like to point him to this nifty book I have about the history of the Samurai, and the section about the onnagata - female impersonaters. The government decided that the samurai were far too fond of the female actresses, fighting over them and so forth, so females were forbidden to act. Of course, someone need to fill the roles soooo...onnnagata. The catch to this "brilliant" plan is that the samurai fought over the onnagata just as much as they had over the actresses.

So. Yes. Samurai + Gay = YAY HISTORY!

...Or something.

The only ones who are wanky there are are enma_o and coridan, who do not only feed the troll(because, imo, thats what he is), but also are completely mortified by facts(which they rebut solely using sources that are biased).

Sorry, but for people who try to pass themselves of as smart and knowing Japan, they suck majorly. There were gay samurai, yeah, but there were gay people everywhere. Gay samurai were freaking rare tho, not common, for various reasons. The clan for once.

But well, Yaoi fangirls can't be able to accept that, so everytime men are close to each other they solely are because they have hawt sex.

That the yaoi-haters here are stupid too is out of the question, its pointless to argue against an anime like that that doesn't take history seriously. it doesn't want to be accurate.


But nevertheless, the true wankers are, again, the fangirls. Its a pattern. God, fangirls, get a life, and accept that people don't like you trying to slash every male around. Its just downright stupid, since you DO degrade friendship to sex. Don't pollute this community with your wanking. Accept that people don't like yaoi, and get over yourselves. Yaoi-haters aren't homophobes, despite your claims.

And they also aren't neccessarily fanboys, just because they have a communits about it oO; Yaoi-fangirl logic is so self-defeatening.
