Game Review Wank
This week, video game magazine GMR hit the stands with an early review of Fable, which is evidently so hotly anticpiated and divinely inspired that the reviewer's assigning the game an eight out of ten merits many, many pages of wank about who is and is not qualified, credible, paid off, or trained to review games adequately. The reviewer finds this real amusing, and posts about it in his own LJ. At which point the IGN kids all board the wank bus and keep the party moving.

I've been waiting for IGN to turn up here for a long long time, so this doesn't surprise me at all.

Too bad I didn't know about this place back when I was a regular on the Sci-Fi board. Oh, the sweet splooge that was generated over everything.

1. Nope. It's a service to help me and the other mods moderate better by understanding what the rest of the community wants, not a service to let you abuse us.

This has only become clear to me in the past couple of months with your over-reaction to anyone mocking you in response to your silly jibes. Before that, I thought you were reasonably cool, but that was a mis-judgment on my part due to my unfamiliarity with your dealings with people on-line. Humility is something that's an admirable part of anyone's make-up and something you've be well advised to develop. None of us are perfect and being afraid to let that show only serves to make us look extremely arrogant.

Er, I don't remember that, and I worked at the GIA. Since we only had a 5-point scale, and we never reviewed Xenogears (either new or as a Vault), I'm honestly not sure what you're talking about here.

Damn... now that you mention it, there was just a 5-point-scale, so it must have been 4 out of 5 I was thinking of (which is also a damn good score).

But didn't Fritz Fraundorf or someone try reviewing Xenogears with a "4", and caused a gigantic shitfit which got the review taken down? I could have sworn that was the GIA...

Maybe I am going senile. Le sob. :(
