I don't know if you could really consider [info]non_uglies type communities a "fandom", but a lot of people *do* like applying to them.

Pretty Gems is an average community in this vein. Checking the community's journal turns up nothing especially interesting to read, either. Actually, this is a pretty secretive community. The funny part is how I found out about them:

"I am leaving you this comment because I believe you are one of the chosen cats. There is a rating community on this human website that allows cats to join. I believe you would be perfect for this community, as you understand the perfection only cats have. "

Check out their user info - one of the community policies is to pic spam other communities and LJs. Yes, even the journals of cats.

ETA: Thanks to [info]athy, we now have the origins of Pounce, the first cat. Pounce tries to join Pretty Gems. I was so very much tempted to do the same thing - but I'm lazier than my cat, so no.
