Scrubs Wank -- Downloading TV Eps is Eeeeevil! Here's a tiny wank morsel I found while searching for the DVD release date of the TV series "Scrubs." It's microscopic, really, but I was amused. penguinmasta Try Kazaa, they've got a ton of scrubs eps. I feel no guilt in downloading eps of shows that networks are taking their sweetass time getting onto dvd. That '70s Show especially. 3rd Rock from the Sun is another show I'd buy dvds of if they were available. But until networks start gett9ng these shows on dvd they'll just have to live with people downloadiong them JvlivsCaesar If anyone is intrested in downloading Scrubs and/or other shows try suprnova.org theepisods with pdtv tags are almost DVD quality and are generaly smaller files (I know it dosent make sence.) As for legality of d/ling tv shows I dont think its hurting the studios that much because everyone who will whant to buy the DVD will still buy it regardless if he has the season downloaded on his computer or not and ratings are not effected cuz poeple will watch the show if they have a chance. I dont have a chance to watch it cuz NBC moved to another city 2 years ago and now I get it only with static quality of picture. Odin downloading the files is illegal, saying it doesn't hurt the studios is the same lame excuse and you are practically spitting in the face of the cast and crew who make this show flashish @ Odin- why do you consider downloading epsiodes any more illegal than recording them straight from television? If i missed an epsiode on tv last night and recorded it instead, how would that differ from me having downloaded it? Please post your thoughts- i would hate the cast to think i was spitting in their faces... JvlivsCaesar I am with flashish on this one. See in the area i live the idiots at NBC decidet to move to another city so now i dont get NBC exept for sound and snowy picture. Also the dvd is not out yet so if i download the show now the company is not lossing a potencial buyer. As for when the DVD comes out I am planing on buying it along with ol the others that I like regardless of wether i d/led them befor or not. Odin that's what everyone says but won't do JvlivsCaesar Yestoday I had to trade in 5 of my games to buy UT2K4 when i could have just as easely downloaded it. So I do buy the things i whant to buy. Odin so you are a saint or something? nihir Odin, First of all, if you looked at any research whatsoever (independant research) you'd find that downloading doesn't hurt sales, it actually increses them. Whether it's music, movies, or tv shows, it's the same result. I don't deny the legality of the issue, but I do think it's irrelevant. If someone wants a copy of a show, then whether they record it or download it, it doesn't matter. And if someone says they buy DVD's...they generally do. It is also something that increases exposure. For example. People who watch American Idol miss shows like I'm With Her, SCRUBS, etc. and might actually start watching the show once they see a few episodes. Not to mention shows from the UK which can't be seen here nor bought. You need to be a little more open to what's happening and understand that you can't fight the reality of P2P and downloading. Look where it got the Music industry. penguinmasta It seems to me that Odin is just a whiner. One of those holier than thou types. I'll bet he never has downloaded a single song or anything that was copyrighted, including any screen savers or wallpapers that feature anyone or anything that has a copyrighted image. Get over yourself man. I've bought more Cd's, dvds, and games since fileshareing became popular. The same thing goes with most of my friends, when we were still in HS we pretty much stopped buying Cd's and just burnt every song we wanted, now that we have more money and a better perspective on what bands are actually worth listening too(which isn't too many) we've all double or even quadrupled our CD collections. Now that may not be an excuse for our past naughtiness, but hey ever since cassette tapes and VHS tapes became available people have been swapping mix tapes, recording television shows and movies off of network TV and cable channels like HBO. Yet, somehow the entertainment industry managed to survive. It will survive file swapping too. |
