When you wish upon a wankstar, your wank dreams come true
The following has been provided by a kindly anonymouse. Enjoy!

************************

Awfully sorry, but couldn't find anywhere to post a wank request in this comm. Forgive me for slipping it in here, and hope it catches someone's attention.

It's about the further brave exploits of little_needle aka wankstar.

First of all, here's the the fairly recent fandom_wank about little_needle's hissy fit over Isiscolo, regarding the running of QuickQuote: http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/441562.html

Isiscolo's account of the whole thing: http://www.livejournal.com/users/isiscolo/159427.html

This ended with needle's grand (announcement of) departure from HP fandom :
http://www.livejournal.com/users/little_needle/261237.html

However, she had NO intention of giving up HER ownership of QQ.
Oh, no, she will hold onto it like grim death. Instead of handing over the management to someone else, she proceeded to recruit several new editors, amongst them titti, electricandroid, and pogrebin, who worked like serfs to produce issue after issue under her demanding scrutiny (needle herself did not seem to do any work):
http://www.livejournal.com/community/quickquote/41279.html

Unsurprisingly, not long after, titti, electricandroid et al make their departure (which was done discreetly behind the scenes, but they have let drop comments in various journals), and so needle, despite going through a "cancer scare" announces a new set of serfs to do her work: http://www.livejournal.com/community/quickquote/50348.html

A veritable bundle of energy, she also starts a new "exclusive" community for Harry/Draco fics, and invites well-known writers to join: http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=seekertoseeker

The "cancer scare" turned out to be not cancer at all, and darn don't I deserve some paid LJ time for this?: http://www.livejournal.com/users/wankstar/34399.html

The writers at seekertoseeker comm duly post some of their old stuff in a desultory fashion. (As far as I know) no one has bleated about not being invited to this comm. However, needle senses some discontent, so here is her wonderfully wank-tastic ranty rant from today! (has been stealthily edited several times since it was first posted to tone down her initial rantiness though):
http://www.livejournal.com/users/wankstar/35122.html

Favourite quote - "I have never failed at anything before."
Sorry about the length, I hope someone can make sense of this messy post, and post a coherent wank. Many thanks.

ETA: Awwwww...a little baby i_wank has emerged from the spooge.

I had no idea that wankstar was little_needle. I wonder how many of the seeker-to-seeker writers know about this, and her very colorful history?

I have never failed at anything before. I went through school and graduated highschool a year early. When I was 17 I organized a compaign to have young kids my age get out and feed some of my city's street people, and it was a huge success. I have been a dancer since I was a child and have won all but one competition since I began competing. When I was 17 I started writing for my first time. I was bored and thought I could do it better. I'm a cocky kid, always have been. 42 days to the very day I began, I was published and paid for my first original short story. I now make my main income off of writing. I love to bake. I enter bake offs and win. Always.

Spank me if she doesn't sound just like dear old Crystal.

Refusing to learn from your mistakes is NOT something to be proud of.

And what is it with black backgrounds? Why does it seem that anyone who uses a black background for their site or LJ is compelled to pick a text color that doesn't show up well on black?

when I make a little community for my favourite ship in my favourite fandom it isn't about leaving anyone out.

Wouldn't you think she'd make it an open community then? What's the purpose of an invite-only fic community if not to keep out the OMGPLEBES?

Don't wank me over this. ... I don't learn anything from it because I can't be arsed to take advice from people who're giving all the 'advice' whilst making cheap shots.

Does she really think we're here to teach her to be a better person? Bitch, please.

I'd be surprised if more than a handful of people on that list don't know as it's not exactly a secret. In fact, she signed my invite as "Needle".

I read both newsletters on LJ and I find both good - QQ usually recs awesome fics (though the pairings are quite rarely of my liking) and Snitch on the other hand links to many cool essays and rants and discussions people have on LJ. I like to participate in polls and such as well, it's useful to have both on my flist.

Reading this, though.. Argh. I hate discovering wank behind my favourite fandom things (sites, fanfiction writers, etc).

That little_needle girl... Oh man. I *want* to like her, she's a friend of many people who're my friends on LJ, but I can't deny the wank. And this.
42 days to the very day I began, I was published and paid for my first original short story.
And then the Pro Writer-card. Makes my eyes hurt. I learned how to read and write at the age of 7 and two months later I was published in a newspaper (in the "Letters to Santa"-section, just before Christmas, but it's still getting published, isn't it?).

Maybe I'm just sick of people who like to brag about their l33t ritin' skillz. And the more subtle you try to be with the bragging, the wankier it gets, really. The best authors I know are humble. They write, they enjoy it, they enjoy the fact that other people enjoy it.

I love how she basically rants about HERSELF ("Oh, maybe I am a diva with a superiority complex!", "I've never failed!") and then:
ETA: THE POINT IS ENJOY THE FUCKING FIC AND LIGHTEN UP ALREADY MKAY?

Gotcha.

and THIS: http://www.livejournal.com/users/little_needle/2004/03/31/ (http://www.livejournal.com/users/little_needle/2004/03/31/)

(nicely summed up and spiced up with additional wank facts HERE: http://www.livejournal.com/users/nimori/91099.html (http://www.livejournal.com/users/nimori/91099.html))

and some other (albeit minor) stuff like THIS: http://www.livejournal.com/users/bnfmdeathmatch/1710.html?thread=183982#t183982 (http://www.livejournal.com/users/bnfmdeathmatch/1710.html?thread=183982#t183982)
or THIS: http://www.livejournal.com/users/little_needle/224860.html (http://www.livejournal.com/users/little_needle/224860.html) (Needle talking about someone else who later turned out to be herself!! Woohooo!)

fandom_bitch... wankstar... Wait, wait, do I see a pattern here?! Ah, nevermind...

And now someone please go and warn point adamasoda to this thread.
The poor girl is wankstar's newest minion newest fan new best friend, but is too new to LJ to know about little_needle's/wankstar's past. Now she even claims fears that people have defriended her because she's defending the seekertoseeker community! Awwww. (Telling her that it might have to do with her worshipping liking wankstar so much won't be of any use though, seeing as she hasn't, in fact, been defriended by anyone. Funny, huh?)

Needle sucks up (http://www.livejournal.com/users/adamasoda/10567.html?thread=368711#t368711) to her latest minion Adamsoda who provides much-needed blind adoration & crucially, art with which to adorn her sites. What is amazing is that Needle refuses to see that no one cares that much about being invited or not to her community. Being Needle, she takes glee in making a big mountain out of a few little miniature molehills. What she doesn't want to face is that people are talking about her history of hatching grandiose projects and failing to see it through for any length of time (HP chan? Quibbler recs?). Or actually doing any of the work. Or crediting the people who did her work for her (in return for no thanks or recognition). Excerpts below in case:

Pardon me I'm just hysterically excited and happy and overjoyed and OMG YOUR RANT! <3! x 109438094 You goddess you! ♥♥. I've been reccing since the stone age in this fandom so I'm all for sticking up for the rest of us! :D

No one ever points out all of the work mods and recommender's do, you know. People assume that because it takes 20 minutes to read quickquote it must take that long to edit. When in reality the majority of our editors spend a good solid 3-6 (for me it was a steady 5) hours on it each day. That's research, editing, coding, beta reading, spell checking and, of course, those last minute add-ins. It is a very under-appreciated job.

Chrystal does a great job in this fandom. I'm always happy to see her recognized! (omg her Draco art is positively sinful! His flat, hard little belly! *touchesss*) As for Seeker, man. Bah. People suck sometimes. There isn't much more to it than that. Some people are just bitter. If I were over-looked I wouldn't care either way. I don't see why it matter's if I happen to or not like/have seen their work. Bully.

re Adamsoda being under the illusion impression that she was defriended by some people for being Needle's friend (which sounds highly improbable), Needle makes sure 'soda feels very noble and virtuous.

arrrrrrr! :/ That tends to come with sticking up for me, being defriended. I'm really sorry. People suck when it comes to letting others speak their minds, I find. I hope they weren't people you really cared for, Soda. They're loss. They're BIG loss.

And bah! Your art is absolutely stunning. I remember friending you and your flist was a good 3 deep! ;) Now you're Ms. BNF, darling (that is not an insult, mind!). You remind of of Glock in so many ways and yet, you're so your own artist with your own delectable lines and your specific way of colouring (I really admire all of the shades of purple and yellow you use for ordinary things).

You're one of the first people I've seen in a LONG time with the balls to say what they want without apology and really mean it. I find it to be very, very admirable. ♥ :)

I have nooo idea if people were upset or what as I just started getting into the HP fandom very recently (and cautiously mind you). I haven't heard anything. My only concern is bringing someone's CANCER scare into this. ONGOING cancer scare. That has nothing to do with any of this. Neither does being bipolar. Jesus, people. That's low.

Why so many anonymice?? This is frightening...

Can anyone find where people were upset over this? Anywhere? Or was this behind the scenes perhaps?
