What is this "make-believe" of which you speak?
I don't know how old this is; I just stumbled across it in my quest for decent Weiß Kreuz screencaps, and before I knew what was happening I was buried in an avalanche of splooge.

No place to comment, sadly enough, but a nice, compact wank, in which a site owner Sees The Light and Attempts To Share Her Wisdom:

Cracked no longer exists, I haven't the time, energy, nor patience to deal with this fandom anymore. Emailing me will do no good, I no longer answer fandom emails, nor will I keep the same AOL Instant Messenger screenname for long, so if you have something to say, I'd appreciate if you could contact me within the next 3 days.

A thing to be considered while reading this is that Weiss Kreuz along with many other animes is just fantasy. It isn't real and it never will be. I've seen people who become so totally obsessed with it, that it becomes their lives. Most waking moments are spent entranced infront of their computer screens and soon the simplicity and aura of happiness surrounding the internet becomes their true world. Fighting, Flames wars and the like, become the substitute for confrontations in reality. I used to be this way and believe me, it did more harm than good.

Get out there and do something dude. Ride your bike, hang out with your friends, read or write a book, do something. Before you realize it, you may have missed some of the best years of your life infront of the computer screen.

I know some of you will think that I am bullshitting, after all...what do I know. I myself used to do exactly what I am preaching against. Well, my birthday was August 23rd and I am now 18. An adult. And the sad thing is that I wasted 4 years of my life chasing a drawn dream.

Fuck it. Do what you do and have a nice a day.

Chickie might like to keep in mind that not everybody is her. More to the point, if "many other animes" are just fantasy... then which ones aren't?

ETA: New shit has come to light! And in light of this new shit....

[info]schuldig informs us that chickie's net handle is Sadistic Paperclip, her drama-filled disappearance dates back a couple years, and she left a similarly wanky good-bye message on what one can only assume is the aptly-named "crappyweissfics" mailing list.

I might be leaving the fandom my dear. See after much observation I
have come to the realization that while I see fanfiction as something
fun to be played with, most people turn it into their lives and sole
reason for living.

Yes. It is pathetic.

In the end these losers remain hollow shells, tapping painfilled
passages into word processors and sending them out into the world
with the sole intent of one day having someone tell them that they
are good at something and quite frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.

I tried to be nice...I did. I WAS. *insert miniature violin* But
after having emotional sobby bitches complain to me about how I hurt
their feelings just because I said there should have been a comma
there or I think the story would have been nicer had it stopped here,
I find I cannot handle it.

So with this, I hope to polish off my Weiss Kreuz career (I still
have an article to complete for the New Yorker and mondo homework,
you know how it is.) and complete the few remaning fictions I have.

Follow your own demon and he shall lead you to glory,

SP

Okay, I poked around until I could get the name of her net handle... *drumroll* it's Sadistic Paperclip! And I definitely remember her, oh yes.

This is her leaving message. There are far more kerfuffles surrounding her (involving archives and Jean D's minions, if I recall correctly), but this goes back two years or so!

Excuse me, I'm getting nostalgic...

Ever so sadly, I "am not a member of the group crappyweissfics." Woe!

Oh, forgot to check that! One cut and paste later:

That's gorgeous. Thanks for sharing, for sharing is caring, after all.

I'll have to try to use "painfilled passages" in my everyday life.

I'm trying not to think about it. The possibilities are horrifyingly endless.

Well, the passages are mercifully limited but the ways to make them painfilled have a distressing plethora of options. ;)

Wow, she's projecting so hard that IMAX wants to get a copywrite for her wangst.

Because everyone who writes fanfic is a obsessed loser and they'll magically stop because I told them too.

It bugs me a lot when people think their saying "Stop doing it" or "do this cause I said so" is going to get people to obey them. I've been on the recieving end of that, and trust me, it results in the opposite. Couple that with lumping everyone into a single category, and watch the spooge fly.

So wait...she was mean to some fanfic authors, who called her on her meanness...and in response she can't handle it? Talk about getting out of da kitchen if ya don't wanna get burnt.

She's 18 and supposedly writing for the New Yorker? Oh, I bow to the great prodigy!

In the end these losers remain hollow shells

Well, then, what are we waiting for? Fill 'em up with ricotta and then cover 'em with marinara sauce!

There's something wanky good on that mailing list? I unsubbed ages ago, when they stopped posting updates of "Yohji's Into Scat" on it.

Nope, this is a rather old posting (as is the website), and nothing has been posted since. I keep it around in hope that it'll be revived, but it hasn't happened as yet.

*Still feeling nostalgic*

*drumroll* it's Sadistic Paperclip!

Well, shit. She wrote a Yohji/Farfarello I was searching for ages, and now there is fuck-all chance it will be up anywhere. On the other hand I was searching for JeanD's Dysfunctional for ages until someone provided me with the first chapter. And then I lost my eyesight. Which goes to show that recs cannot be trusted.

In this case, archive.org (and their 'Wayback Machine') is your friend. I went back until I found the archive of the original site - it should all be there.
