OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!1111111!1!1!1!1!!
Please excuse the title of this entry, it describes my mood on the wank-fest currently taking place in the LiveJournal community antiyaoi.

Aparently, to zoicite84, the members of the community are "LiveJournal's young, nubile homophobes" and that they are "self-righteous, closed-minded numbskulls."

First let me direct you to the community's userinfo and the rules that reside on the page.

Rule number two states "This is not an anti-gay community, so don't make it one. I'm not going to stop anyone from expressing their opinion, be it pro-yaoi or anti-gay, but PLEASE DO NOT BE A FUCKING RETARD about it. "I dislike yaoi because I think homosexuality is wrong," is perfectly valid, but "I hate yaoi and all women and faggots should die in a fire," makes the internet sad and when the internet is sad it cries and when the internet cries I have to waste my fucking time and log in just to ban you because you're an idiot. Please don't waste my time."

Somehow in that rule alone I don't get where the troll thinks the community is for people who are homophobic. Nor do I see where it makes them think the members are closed-minded. But that's just me.

Also, rule number four states "No, we don't, as a whole, think that every yaoi fangirl that ever lived is like ______, so spare yourself the effort of posting and don't try to play the bloodstained martyr at the altar of Japanese cartoons. This sort of posting trend is also getting old."

I'm sure that antiyaoi has been the subject of a lot of [info]fandom_wank entries, but this one is too amusing. :)

The entry in question can be found here: http://www.livejournal.com/community/antiyaoi/65716.html

Hey, as long as you're ranting at excruciating length about shit that most people here don't care about, and are in fact here to mock... do you take requests?

Choose from any (or all) of the following topics that damn few people here want to read about, and keep those magic fingers tap tap tapping!

- Bob Fosse
- The origin of the term "yellow journalism"
- Is there ever a bad time for pudding? And if so, exactly when?
- 1066
- Is pro wrestling real?
- The true meaning of the lyrics of "American Pie"
- The true meaning of the lyrics of "MacArthur Park"
- The true meaning of the lyrics of "The Ballad of Billie Joe"
- The true meaning of the lyrics of "The Pina Colada Song"
- Philately: addictive?
- Yaoi

Why would they even bother to go to the trouble of providing some sort of (attempted) serious plotline and moments of dramatic interaction and especially heavy-handed angst if they only wanted their work to be treated like silly, un-important trash that only serves as something for people to mock and/or get off on. I mean really.

Because it's been proved scientifically that while men only need visual stimuli, women need 'plot', a storyline to follow, even if it's faint.

That's why the female equivalent of Playboy would never be half as successful as the original.

But, dude, in all honesty? The people here are right, it's not the time nor the place to discuss such things. I enjoy the talking, but we're all out-of-place here, they're in their rights to mock.

You know what you could have done? You could've done this: "If I may wax OT for a moment, something that's always chafed me about yaoi has been the character archetypes. I hate squealy, weepy, girl-with-a-dick ukes and big, mean, I-love-you-my-rapist semes and the kooky fangirls that go OMG BISHI ANGST SQUEEEE over these one dimensional train wrecks."

AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN IT. You wouldn't have an enormous mock-fest and you wouldn't be reamed for trying to STICK IT TO DA MAN (which is yaoi's job already anyway) and you might even have FW people "Word"-ing in your direction.

But in the international language of kindergarteners: THIS IS YOU DURRRR BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAAAAAAAAH.

I know it's been said a bazillion times before, but I just got this new icon and am compelled to bring it out. This is not the appropriate forum. Fandom wank is about pointing and laughing, not your not-entirely-illegitimate gripes about yaoi and shonen-ai.

I didn't think it was possible for a person to be this slow on the uptake without wanking walking backwards. Really.

I'll use big words this time, since you don't seem to understand small ones:

Our collective finds you neither engrossing nor entertaining, we have no concern for what you presume to postulate, and we desire you to extricate yourself from our midst with the utmost alacrity.

God, I feel like I just copied The Eye of Argon.

Odd.... I thought THEY were the ones who were playing the "bloodstained martyr" routine. If they're going to accuse someone of playing some role, maybe they ought to examine themselves and make sure they're not committing the same sins as their adversaries.
