I don't know what the hell this is... but it's wank.

The people on my local cesspool of wank (AKA Friends of Josh Groban - I've told them they're becoming a legend over here and they don't even seem to care) are talking about constructive criticism. But not for fanfics, fortunately... I don't think I could take an "OMG, U CRUSHED MY SOUL BY FLAMING MY MARY-SUE" wank in Grobania... no, no. They're talking about whether it's okay to say that you thought a concert was less than perfect, and if so, whether one should have to do so in a 'constructive' manner. If that sounds weird... that's because it is.

As usual, I have archived the (exceedingly colourful) wank for you to peruse at your leisure. I think my favourite part is where the OP starts talking about the tao of criticism.

Because Josh Groban totally cares if they think he's not perfect.

And because everyone else cares, too.

I feel like going over to their forum and posting "Josh Groban's mother was a hamster, and his father smelt of elderberries!!"

But that would be trolling.

You wouldn't get any good insults anyway. And FoJG costs $40 to join. (Waste of money if you ask me)

$40 to join? Guh! Groban sure has some batshit crazy dedicated fans there.

Yep, 40. And for that you get: a t-shirt, a cardboard with a picture of Josh and a cheap dinky calendar on it, a printed "letter" from Josh, access to FoJG's website, and a chance to get tickets early.

It is not worth 40 bucks!

With what fandom costs me in terms of 'zines, action figures (toys...okay I admit it), cons, travel and other miscellaneous fan-related merchandise, $40 to squee with glee over something I could do within a YahooGroup or LJ for free just seems ridiculous. Besides you can get early access to purchase tix to shows through plenty of non-fan-related sources.

Yeesh, I'm in the wrong business, where do I get a job to exploit fans and have them pay for the privilege.

Oh there are a few Mary Sues in "Grobania" just nobody will fucking stand up and say it! Those "GrobanSues" does have a nice ring but I can't think of too many who would join to snark about the suck ass characters that "Joshy" is subjected to in fan fictions.

The best thing about the whole post was how the first post had some girl saying that her personal shaman told her not to get wanky about things like this.

And naturally she splooges right and left throughout the entire thing.

I'm sure he cried himself to sleep that night, right on top of his mattress stuffed with money.

*That is best explained be the wankiness of this thread: BLATANT DISREGARD & DISRESPECT for JOSH GROBAN and His Young & Healthy Fans!!!! "I pledge alligence to our Josh, the fabulous King of Grobania, and to the Grobanites, for which he stands, One nation under Josh, indivisible, with pixie sticks and llamas for all."

This made me cry and I couldn't finish reading through the tears of pain. Because after all, that whole "under Josh" part was just added in the Cold War to differentiate us from the Bocelli fans.

I just have to say...I LOVE this!! I am kicking myself in the ass for joining that stupid club...$40 I could have spent on something a helluva lot more worthwhile. I have made ONE friend that *maybe* makes up for the fact that I joined...but will I be renewing? Is the Pope Jewish?

You need to cleanse yourself of this. Go out and buy a copy of Sometimes I Dream, the first "English" album by Mario Frangoulis. It's his mainstream debut, but he sings in a variety of languages, all the tracks are Mediterranean influenced, from Greek (his native language) to Italian to Spanish.

And the best part is that I have never come across scary Mario fans.
