Apparently she doesn't have an editor at all. What she means by not needing an editor is that her books sell well enough that she can say nobody is allowed to edit her work. And since book publishers would rather have crappy books selling well than for Anne Rice to take her toys books and go home, they give in to her wishes.
What Ms. Rice doesn't realize is that she earned this "right" through being popular, not through skill. And flaunting her refusal to use an editor doesn't mean she doesn't need one. It just means she's that much more egotistical and stupid.
