Oh, please. Not Laurell Hamilton. It was my sorrow to watch her descent into stupidity through her annual appearances at Archon. She was at first a very intelligent, humble and thoughtful writer. As her books soared into fangirl popularity and her legion of followers grew, though, it was like she left the real world behind and went to "Anita Land", where there was lots of squee from fangirls and vampires were teh_sex. Her books got more and more unreadable as well. When it reached the point where Anita couldn't use the toilet without agonizing over how this action would affect her status within the various supernatural groups she was attached to/leading/sleeping with the leader, and it became obvious Edward wasn't going to come in and do a little housecleaning, I stopped reading. What she did to her ex-husband wasn't very kind, either. Mister Terrific Defender of Fair Play Post a comment in response: |
