Growing "InuYasha" wank
[info]kikyounosorrow is known throughout quite a bit of the "InuYasha" fandom for her hatred of Kagome. (As displayed in several places on her Kikyou shrine, as well as in forums, livejournal communities, etc.)

Several times on [info]inuyasha she has made posts targeted at triggering fans of the character into going off. (One of which was fandom_wanked at a previous point, one of which was deleted before it could be, and a couple of which didn't reach a level that would warrant it.)

Here's her newest post.

Replies started out very civil, until [info]kikyounosorrow and her friend [info]prince_of_chaos accused the civil replyers of being 'rabid fangirls defending their cartoon goddess' and other such sentiments.

Post goes downhill from there, and it's still going.

Well, I'm not too much into the Inu-Yasha fandom, but I figure that most bashing of Kagome or Kikyo is caused because the bashee gets in the way of the basher's OTP. I guess some people might be squikced by Kikyo since her body is currently made from grave soil and bone ash, but other than that the only reason I can see for the bashing is an acute case of OTP Defense Reflex Syndrome.

Yes because shows are always canceled because some people find certain characters annoying.

I mean I know 'Family Matters' was ripped off the air once people started hating on that Urkle kid. And 'Saved By the Bell' was tragically cut short due to the fans burning hatred for Screech.

Lord only knows how long 'Smallville' will last due to Lana/Chloe hatred.

It couldn't possibly be they either wanted to leave on a high note, or were waiting for the manga to finish.

Either the 'sit' thing or too many people were writing letters of complaint that Kagome hadn't made a move to purchase a shotgun and take out Naraku with it. Because that would so work.

I will never understand Kagome-hate or Kikyo-hate.

I personally adore Kikyo; she has the characterization that appeals to me. I don't go crazy about Kagome, but then again, unless a protagonist's name is Christopher Chant, I am probably not going to fangirl them madly. But regardless, Kagome is okay and has some pretty good parts.

In other words, neither are horribly bad characters. Different character types, but not bad.

Okay, now let us go onto pairings.

Kikyo x Inu-Yasha is canon for the part of the story that deals with their past relationship. Kagome x Inu-Yasha is canon for the present part of the story. Thus, you can write either and have canon's blessing. Hell, you can even write Kikyo x Inu-Yasha for the present portion if you want. It may not be canon the, but fan fiction is a great place for alternative pairings.

Now, finally, Kikyo and Kagome are pretty much the same gal.

So why the blazes do their fans hate each other so much!?
