Current mood:*sporfle!*

And it keeps going . . . and going . . . and going . . .
More Manwhore . . . er, Michael . . . Rosenbaum wank.

After embitca's original Fandom_Wank post, Edie apologizes for any misunderstandings about starting the LJ community in the first place. ". . . sorry to anyone who was offended. Sorry to anyone that got hurt. It wasn't directed at you."

Rivier doesn't buy it, and blows her British gasket. "I think I wouldn't wipe my arse with your opinion." Me-OW!

The wankiest part? Edie never said she started the community as a "fuck you" to anyone, least of all Rivier. Way to keep the wank rolling, embitca. Ha!

Seriously, how humorless can some Smallville fans get? Take a step back and just look at The Pretty.

This has to be the first flame war I've ever seen that is based entirely (and willfully) on a series of actual misunderstandings that 10 year old could see past.

But there's itching for a fight and if you add a couple of self-righteous shit-stirrers to the pot, voila! KA-BOOM!

Dumbest Flame War Ever.

Smallville actually has less, and weaker, kerfuffles than any of my previous fandoms. (Hello, X-Files! Whoo, smokin'!) But the angry schism between the crusty old timers and the uppity devil-don't-give-a-shit fandom newbies is growing and getting more acidic as time passes. Seems like da rabble don't be likin' the proclaimations from up on high no mo' and are sharpening their pitchforks with more vim and verve.

Whatever. I think it's because the show is so badly done, we can't argue about that with any passion or intelligence, so we're stuck being wiseass to each other.

I do believe you're on to something. I for one can't actually *recommend* that anyone watch it. Whenever anyone finds out I'm a fan of the show, they're always all, "Oh, really? I know that show is popular-- is it any good?" to which I'm forced to Ummmm and Ahhhhh for 30 seconds or so and finally blurt out, "You know, 24 is on at that time and I hear it's excellent."

:X

My friends are always, "Is Smallville really that good?" and I'm like, "Er. um. Not really. But, uh, Lex is hot?"

Here's an interesting aside: I recently introduced a friend of mine from the XF fandom to f_w. After reading through the archive of wank, her one question was: "Why are the SV fans so crazy?"
