Fandom Scruples Screws Up?
I was hesitant to post this wank because I don't know all of the history but since no one else seems to have noticed it, I think I might have just spotted Fandom_Scruples screwing up.

The password will change at noon my time. If you want to be able to view private entries after this be sure to check your email. I'm off to work now, but I'll check back around noon. I know it was a mistake to post that last week, but I didn't check LJ before I did and anyway no one seems to have paid it any attention. The draft of the next post will be sent over email in a few days.

I am untalented and cannot figure out how to save the entry or screencap it. Someone should do it for posterity's sake.

Now the really interesting question is what the locked post is talking about? I am clueless and I think my theory that it's a group of school teachers in Idaho might not catch on. And was there some special event going on last week that made it inappropriate to make it's last post? The Debates, perhaps? Anyway, it's bound to create a good old fashioned game of "Create the Conspiracy Theory" with the obligatory crazy participants accusing each other of high treason.

ETA: It's locked now but ashenmote is teh wonderful.

Also, Anonymice are coming! Anonymice are Coming!

Pardon, but this is fandom_scruples (public!) friended list:

1. fandom_scruples

the public friend OF list is:

38: arachnethe2, auroraceleste, biztheinsane, brak666, butt_buddy, cheshyre, cumbitch, dave_the_great, dhlpa, entity_watcher, fandom_pillory, fandom_scruples, fandomscrewples, flameandsword, fuckahippogriff, greek_minx, hildechan, honoria, hpfan_grudges, hpnic06, icarusancalion, jess_darkwater, kagiri, lavenderfrost, lonicera, milady22, morlom, norne, oulangi, polaroidandroid, pottersister666, rabbijones, roz_mcclure, screwyouf_s, slightlydevious, stromfreak, thanks4dasmut, xtricks

If I understand the workings of lj correctly, it's the friend list, not the friend of list, (unless they're mutual) that gets to view protected entries. So basically, the only one who can see the private entries is, well, fandom_scruples.

Translation: No conspiracy. Fandom_scruples is just feeling lonely and ignored and wants to see if anyone is paying attention to their widdle ickle self.

Unless, of course, there are actually 423 teachers from Idaho logging in to the account as owner. That would be interesting.

Yeah. Back when LJ had codes and we were short on them, Biichan and I shared several accounts that we used for various Lightningwar NPCs.

Don't be silly. Everybody knows Harry Potter fans can't share.

I'm no rocket scientist but I think the whole "changing password" reference mght be because a few people share the journal. I could be wrong, but it's interesting anyhow.

I also find it interesting that anonomice are appearing to defend the "F_S is one lonely person theory." I think I might have stumbled upon something here.

Um... except just about everyone here has a livejournal and knows that the only reason anyone would care about a password is for exactly the reason you explained: a friends list is public. If you don't want people to know who the "members" are, you give them all the password to one journal and communicate via private entry.

Please stop protesting too much. You're making the mocking too easy.

That's just what he/she/it *wants* you to think? Constant Vigilance!

Um, I hardly think one short post is "protesting too much." Yeah, it's entirely possible that the account is used by multiple log-ons, but the tone of the original post, including the little note about exactly what time the password would be changed, just struck me as phony. It sounded disingenuous and staged.

But by all means, carry on with your conspiracy theory and knee-jerk reactions if it entertains you.

I have a conspiracy theory? No, I have a tendency to mock anonymice who post things meant to imply general ignorance whilst making themselves look pathetic. I personally think the post was a ploy to garner more interest in a troll whose bag of tricks is mostly used up.

But by all means, continue to display your inferiority complex, since it entertains me.

Or they could have posted their entry to the wrong journal.

There's an "In Memoriam" LJ community (sorry I can't remember the exact name of it) where um, your death was announced. Weird. Glad you're okay!

Private posts are different from Friends Only posts. Private means only the person posting can see them. So, if they're privating posts and changing passwords, there's still a conspiracy. XD
