Icon_tutorial wank!

Now. we have the community [info]icon_tutorial. It is a happy little shiny world where benelovent icon-makers post their gems of wisdom on how to make shiny things, and the less gifted love them for it, and it's all good.

But, every so often, the wank arrives with a vengeance. [info]chelkitty posts a tutorial and [info]sadako_chan takes offense. She is apparently the paragon of originality.

And the wank goes on. And on.

Still in progress, as well.
ETA: *flails* hate formatting.

I always wonder about the etiquette of what constitutes [info]otf_wank. Because really really good wank that only includes a small amount of self-wanking should be included here, where the larger [info]fandom_wank audience can appreciate it. It would be nice if there could be integration between the two communities, so the OTF mods can "promote" wank from that community to this one (presuming it is worthy). I'm just dreaming, of course.

I do hope the original poster decides to keep her wank right here, however, because I really do think it belongs.

She kind of is in the fandom, 'cause she makes HP icons. Hey, maybe I should throw a tantrum about how my icon tutorials never get enough feedback and how no one appreciates aperciates my arteestic soul, and I'd be a BNF too!

The worst part? How if they don't credit it to themselves they credit it "ICON GODEZZES" crumblingwalls, teh_indy, etc. I hate the kissing-ass that goes on with that group (not that *all* of them asked for it however).

I agree. And yeah a lot, if not most, of them don't really ask for it. Especially crumblingwalls. I was actually going to reply and suggest they leave her out of it, because wank makes her kick puppies, and it is not pretty to behold.

I knew it would get here sometime. When I saw the second tutorial, I was immedietly reminded of the first one and people can be pretty sensitive over tutorials being a little too similar.

The more I look at this [info]sadako_chan's journal, the wankier this all becomes. She is a control freak of the highest order. She has so many rules for how people friend her I'm surprised anyone has. Every time she defriends people, she makes a list stating exactly why, most of which consists of "you don't post in my journal *whiiiiiiine*! She appears to want every single person she ever meets to do things exactly as she says. Seriously, it's some great reading. She's only sixteen, but I don't think that's any excuse.

OMFG. I am so disturbed. But, questions. 1) Holy crap, does everyone use that many filters/layers/effects on their icons? I swear, if I get over five, I think I'm being too technical. 2) She takes people off her list because she has just "too many posts to read omg", then says that some of the people she's cutting never post. Uh...right. Also, it's possible to read every post and not comment on it. Some posts you can't comment with more than "sooooo right!" or something like that, and what's the point of that? Geez.

Of course, she doesn't mention that the idea of using the blue in exclusion, or a multiply layer in the colours she did, or a screen of the base above the base is ALL exactly the same as everyone else's icon tutorials...
I think I've seen fourty of these before, it's sad. The person claiming she's stealing needs to be beaten over the head by the real icon BNFs, and told to go home, since they're all just ripping off the bigger folks anyways.
