Seth Green is 40.93% Jewish, 40.93% Irish, and all man, baby!

Long-time listener, first-time poster. I humbly bring forth frothy wank from the IMDB Seth Green board.

Cloudcaster6 lights the touch paper: Is seth green jewish? my dad and i are arguing over it.

Step forward SethGreensBiggestFan. Arithmetic is not SGBF's strong point. Neither is English grammar: He realllllly looks it! lol. More as a child, but he looks it. I'm not exactly sure how 'jewish' he is but I am pretty sure he's half. I think the studies showed he was 40.93 jewish. I think one of his parents are. :D! I think his dad.

fanadfilms flashes some credentials: I have stayed at Seth's house in Toluca Lake, CA, and Sherman Oaks, CA. I have been to his old home in West Philla, PA. He is 100% Jewish. However, he is not in any way, or at least wasn't before, religious. He celebrates Christmas too. His middle name is Gesshel.

LuckiLemunMunki splodges forth: Ok, he might have some jewish in him or something, but i don't know what you people are talking about, he doesn't look jewish at all. I know quite a few jewish people...besides I'm like an obsessive Seth fan and i don't remeber hearing anything about him being jewish. If anything he looks Irish, green eyes and naturally red hair.

fanadfilms: I've actually celebrated jewish holidays with him and his mother and sister before. However, I'm Irish.

LuckiLemunMunki: im not trying to say he's not jewish, because there's no way i can know that, the only things i'm have a problem with is everyone saying that he looks jewish. ... But i really have a problem with everyone saying he looks Jewish, and when you say look jewish i assume you mean dark eyes, dark hair, the nose...you know, those things, when his nose could probably pass for jewish but thats it.Sorry if i'm pissing anyone off, no wait i dont really care if i'm pissing anyone off.

Duchess Propriety: I am sure I read somewhere that Seth does not like organised religion and does not believe in God, which would make him definitely NOT Jewish. ... Religion ... is not hereditary.

singlestar puts things in perspective: Honestly, he is a greater actor than he is jewish.

	Dude - have you SEEN Penn, my alma mater and proud West Philly resident? I believe that the most populous minority on campus is Jewish. Actually, an ex-roommate of mine lived near his old house, which is on the mainline. Which is not quite West Philly. Heh. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

how much is wrong with this? let me count the ways

1) It doesn't matter, he's an actor.
2) If your mom is Jewish, you're Jewish. It's the Law.
3) Arithmetic, however, does matter.

5) I have green eyes, fair skin and a small nose. However, my mom is Jewish, my dad was Jewish and my family goes back to shtetls in various parts of eastern Europe. I celebrate various winter holidays. Stereotypes are stupid.
6) There is no number 6.
7) It's true that back in the day, Toluca Lake and Sherman Oaks were very very Jewish.
8) Have I mentioned that STEREOTYPES ARE STUPID?

Wow. I wish people actually knew any Jews before speaking for the entire culture. Having grown in North Miami Beach, aka "Little Israel," I can say with great authority that these people are all schmucks.

My 2 best friends, a blonde-blue-eyed freckle faced girl and a pitch-black Ethiopian man, who are both 100% Jewish by birth, would piss themselves laughing at that.

And have they never heard of secular Jews, which is how Seth Green self-identifies? Oy vey gevalt.

	Very true, I live in a section of New York. I've had friends with the most goyish looks, red hair, blonde, pale skin, and you think you can tell Jews by there facial structures. 	The only people I can tell on sight are Jewish are the orthodox Jews. And that's more about their clothes and hair than about any facial features. Then again, I tend to not assume anything about people's religion or ethnic background unless it's really obvious. Saves me the embarassment if I'm wrong either way. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Islam's hereditary too - if at least your father is Muslim, then you are too. Bit of a problem for me as (a) I don't really identify myself as Muslim yet (b) Islam is the official religion here therefore (c) I'm legally Muslim and can't really be that open about my actual beliefs. Dark hair, dark eyes, the nose...

An exfriend of mine was tall, blonde and blue eyed and his grandparents were Israeli. I spent a bit of time with his Jew frat and there were very few who looked "OMG JEW." Only two or three out of the fifty of them. The only way I could even tell the orthodox guy from the others was his happy little yamaka. (And I realize I spelled that wrong, but Hebrew spellings never cease to confuse the fuck out of me)

Its sad those kids have never heard of ethnic Jews.

Heh. Reminds me of the time I told my cousin-by-marriage that I was Jewish, and she said "Wait, does that mean you do that door-to-door thing?" *facepalm*

[Just so you know, you can't really spell anything in Hebrew wrong, because if you're writing it with English letters, it's a transliteration. That's why there are a billion spellings of Hanukkah.]

[nitpick]Can I just add how annoyed I am by the idea that all Irish people have red hair/green eyes? I've only met a few Irish people with red hair. As for the green eyes, I'm the only Irish person I know with 'em. Most Irish people seem to have blue eyes.

Red hair is actually more common with people of German or Polish descent in my experience.[/nitpick]
