Current mood:*sporfle!*

It's kind of like Jesus, in a way.
I know Bronze Wank isn't the most popular in these parts--the board is painfully formatted and it's almost too easy--but I simply could not resist sharing this post. Solomon, a troll in veteran's clothing (he constantly changes names, posts well over the thread limit, makes really long posts with no original content, etc.), posts a "eulogy" he wrote for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's actually the first of three he's posted today alone, and he insinuates that more will be coming. One of the others is done in what's supposed to be Shakespeare's style, which is wanky in and of itself, but this one takes the cake . . .

Why should this cancellation have happened to all of us? I have no easy answer to that question, but I remember a young man,
a little older than Buffy when he was hanging to die on a Cross. And he cried out: 'Why? My God, my God, Why hast Thou forsaken me?' There came no sudden voice from heaven, no sudden insight. Darkness came to all of us.

This is why I love Sol. For reminding me of Jesus.

In her acting Gellar showed not only her total lack of humour, but more importantly her ability to understand the feelings of others and to portray them sympathetically, something she could certainly not do in real life.

SMG gets the smackdown...in eulogy form! I bet she's at home crying right now...

Also, check out the hilarious comment from buffluv

Why am I not surprised someone with the username "buffluv" favors spelling "you" "u"?

Don't get me started on buffluv dude. This is the same chick who objected to my complaint that the dialogue on Dawson's Creek was unrealistic by saying "um i am a teen and i have about the same whitty comments as them." It was made even better by the fact that I'd USED the word witty in my original post, so there were really no excuses.

Well she seems like someone who would make intelligent and funny comments, right?

Oh, and your icon kills me. Reminds me of the song Dead Wrestlers.

I, personally, am happy they cancelled Buffy before it started to /really/ suck.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she's like Jesus, in a way.

Yes, but Buffy's died and come back twice. She's better than Jesus, in a way.

*fully expects a ride in the F_W handbasket to hell for that one*

Actually, I'd say she's more like Michael Jackson than Jesus in that respect.

*snorts* Just a season? It's been sucking longer than that.

Yes, but it didn't suck quite so hard until this year. Though there are still people who insist that people only dislike season 6 because "it was too dark," and that anybody who didn't like season 7 wasn't a "true" fan.

I don't know. I loved six. But then again I didn't really like four and five, and season six was a welcome reprieve from Dawn and Riley and OMG WE MADE AN EVEN EVILER EVIL THIS SEASON which got ridiculous with Glory being a deity.

The Bigger Badder phenomenon was just annoying. It sucks in RPG campaigns and it sucks in TV shows. The Mayor was the last decent villain.

As for my thoughts on when Buffy jumped the shark, see my icon.

Anything I didn't like about the show, I blame on Marti Noxon. It's just so easy... :D I never got the Willow-->insta-lesbian dealie, anyway. She was attracted to Xander for years, and seemed quite happy with Oz, so...if it were real life, she'd have a couple "OMG I'M LESBIAN" college years and then realize that she's bisexual, right?

The only thing about hating on Noxon is, I'm a huge Spike fan, so I always have mixed feelings. Cause I think there was some good, obviously. ^_^ But I think season six did go back to the basics in a lot of ways, with some episodic villains and the humor in "Life Serial" all the way up to the twisted end.

I thought Willow as a villain was great. I just wish Buffy had been set up as a villain for the series finale. It would have been delicious.

I like Spike too. Or more to the point I like Spike being Spike, ya know where he'd just as soon stab you in the face than help you.

Thing is in later seasons Spike lost his edge. They pretty much removed the traits that made him such an interesting character and at the end turned him into some bizzare Christ figure....

Actually, I didn't like season 6 because Buffy/Spike disgusted me, particularly in various stages of nudity, and I thought the whole evil!Willow thought was not only annoying but contrived and ridiculous.

I like season 7. But I also like season 4, which apparently I'm not supposed to have enjoyed either. Whatever. I think the great thing about the show is that various people take away various things from it, and different aspects of the show have different levels of appeal for people.
