So they're saying there's definite yaoi in a series created by a guy who had no idea there was the possibility of slashing his characters? Floatin' around somewhere on-line is a video of Yashuiro Nightow reactin' vehemently at a convention when a fans brought up the concept of yaoi doujinshi with his characters in it. He gave sort of a shocked, "People do that?! I...it never even occurred to me!" reaction. Somehow I have trouble believin' the inherent "yaoi-ness" of it after that.

IMHO, it's one of those cases where it just depends how you interpret things. I lean to the het side of the force for this fandom, but I don't think my yaoi friends are insane or anything. So while I'd say that while Millyfan is not wrong in saying that cases can certainly be made for these pairings, I wouldn't call it "inherent", cuz to me inherently yaoi means that the creators kinda wanted it to be that way.

But then, if everyone tried to do things exactly the way the creators wanted, fanfiction wouldn't be so fun, so I'm gonna sit back with the dirty, dirty doujinshi that arrived in the mail yesterday while the wank grows.

I think he's being a little disingenous about that; one glance at the doujin scene in Japan shows that no series or pairing is safe, after all. In the interviews I've read he's been pretty cool about all the shipping/fanfiction/goofiness-- more of a 'flattered and baffled' vibe than anything else.

There's pretty much no romantic shippiness in Trigun-the-manga at all, anyway. (Which is why I write fanfiction, heh.)

	Read Romans 1 sometime. If that's not stark proof that homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible, I don't know what is. ^_^ So sorry to say, but the Christians that believe homosexuality isn't a sin are painfully wrong. Remember, they're using the Bible as their Word of Proof. That's shooting yourself in the foot, since several rules from it either are ignored by God him/her/itself, or are downright ridiculous. Lot's daughters who practically raped their own dad to make sure they'd have children, anyone? Were they even punished? Or not mixing determinate types of fabrics? Or not eating several kind of animals?

Varied Commentary:

1.) The OP is stupid because, try as you might, there is no canon yaoi in Trigun, and besides, you DON'T try to change people by running around and screaming they're wrong. Knowing human nature, that will make them even more vehemently clingy to their beliefs, not to mention pissed off.

2.) The troll is stupid because two wrongs never make a right ~~even if God IS whispering in your ear to smite your enemies~~, and people who preach 'love the sinner and hate the sin' will begin to hate the sinner as well within a matter of weeks. (I've seen it, it's not pretty.)

3.) If this were Yû Yû Hakusho, the OP would have a point. Sensui and Itsuki are a couple, and Togashi has openly stated that male homosexuality and MtF transvestism and transsexualism interest him. However, it's Trigun, and millyfan has no grounding in canon. ~~Besides, I wanted Vash to get with Meryl...I SWORE she was the reincarnation of Rem!~~

Not really,my family for instance,I was taught that growing up.

They would just stay away for the person instead.(Had a gay neighbor across the street once)

My parents don't hate anyone....matter of fact,my mom doesn't want me to say "I hate ___" anybody or anything(as in a pet).

At a glance, I don't really see what's all that Christian about CAA anyway.

Don't get me wrong, they pay enough lip service to reviewing anime with the Christian perspective or whatever, but their only clear criteria for "bad touch series" and "good touch series" seems to be the presence of canon homosexuality (notice the distinct lack of shonen-ai shows and most CLAMP). And even that is inconsistent. "Azumanga Daioh" was given a 3 for 'Sexual Content', and that show has a lesbian (or at least bi-curious) main character, not to mention a running joke where a male teacher makes openly creepy passes at his underage students.

Not to mention that one reviewer pans "X TV" for being "too occultic", yet the rating in the same review for 'Bad Religion' is 0. WTF?

I'm reading the review for the Ah! Megami-sama! Movie and....wow. The reviewer is a very sheltered child.

"At one point, Urd (Belldandy's sister) has to force Belldandy to drink. Urd does this by putting the liquid in her own mouth and then gives it to Belldandy mouth-to-mouth. A screenshot of this scene, or someone walking in on the movie at that part could very, very easily mistake it for two girls kissing."

No, no - it's two girls kissing. Sorry, move along. Ah! Megami-sama (manga version especially) is SO all about the lesbian fan service. Yes, it's a cute, sweet series with lots of touching moments. It still has lesbian fanservice.

The reviewer also fails to note in the nudity details that there's a scene in the movie where naked!Belldandy embraced her naked!wounded!Inner Child. Granted, the scene isn't sexual, but they're deffinitely both nekkid.

And...yeah...the review of X boggles my mind. THE APOCOLYPSE is not Christian? And Kamui being, essentially, JESUS is not Christian? I mean, I know it's the most bastardized interpritation of the Bible and such ever, but X is...um...definitely Christian-based.

Man, I wanna see what they have to say about Angel Sanctuary! Incest, bad angels, good demons, transvestites, homosexual undertones, and at the end of the OVA the characters tell off God! Woo!
