Look, Ma, I'm a wank again!
And I wasn't even TRYING!

at least, I think this is wanky, lemme know if it's not

It all starts out innocently enough - me posting random icons I made. One can safely say I'm a mark for attractive girls and Tori Amos lyrics. :)

Of course, someone took offense to that, to which I replied rather casually.

Suddenly, someone implies that disturbed stranger is not the only one freaking out, someone else confirms it, so I went on a search that took me here.

Of course, I commented, but the maintainer (who was the one who made the post in the first place) took them down. Fortunately, I had a friend with the window open, so she saved it for me.

Sadly, I can't reply anymore, as now the maintainer made the comments accesible to members only, AND if that doesn't take the cake, she only accepts members by invite. :)

What I'd like to know is where else I've been mentioned over harmless little icons. I also emailed her to ask if she can at least take down the icons so she doesn't steal my bandwidth. Who knows if she'll even read it.

At least I didn't use Me and a Gun lyrics, right? *giggle*

Edit: I changed the images those links link to. They should have a nice surprise right now.

Edit 2: Strangely, I think we've buried the hatchet. o_O I swear, sometimes I think I'm far too forgiving to be a member of this community.

My question is: Why would somebody be a fan of Tori Amos if they were closed-minded and not fond of (tasteful, I might add, and not pornographic) female nudity in icons.

I actually think the icons are rather nice.

I will just have to assume that the lesser mind is incapable of comprehension.

Thanks! I was rather fond of them, too. No matter what some psycho Tori fan thinks. :)

ahahahahaha! but then the emotional pseudo-dick sizing could have started all over again over who owned the most me-and-a-gun-symbolic-pain and lord knows tori amos fans aren't happy unless they're talking about how they're just happy enough that they haven't tried to slit their own wrists today and it's all thanks to tori's music, forever and ever god-sometimes-you-just-don't-come-through amen.

sorry, man, ear with feet in recovery, eight years and counting. still love the music, but them kids are scaaaaary. i also used to have a christina icon that said "i believe in peace, bitch" but i can't seem to find it at the moment.

Generally I am content to ignore the existence of Tori Amos and her lyrics (as well as the existence of Pamela Anderson et. al) but...

What the shit is this? How are those pictures disturbing?? Is it because those were TA lyrics used on pictures of ubiquitous sex symbols (TA + T&A) and it set off some peoples' "that's degrading to wimmyn!!" reflexes. These were pretty tame pictures too. I could understand Pamela/Squid disturbing people, heh. That and "this is cooling" also was on a commercial for air conditioners before Tori Amos happened on the scene so I immediately associated that with air conditioners because I'm not a Tori fan.

I think my hatred for Tori was sealed when she fucked around with NIN's "Closer," and thought she improved the song.

As for Tori fans? They disturb me. I'd be most pissed that they were stealing my bandwidth for their wank, and there you have some standing to do some action against them if they don't take those icons down.

You know, we really need to discuss more Tori wank. It's such a huge, untapped market and the ears with feet find new ways to be predictable all the fucking time.

(and I'm another patient on the "like the songs, hate the fans" trauma unit...)

Agreed. I adore Tori Amos' music but a good deal of her fans are pretentious wank shafts. I suppose finding Tori Wank would mean actually going to message boards...*shudder*

Going to message boards?! Screw that! Wank aborted! Wank aborted! (Which involves medical gymnastics I don't even want to think about!) But...wank aborted! Wank aborted!

*g* I know, it's just too frightening. There's probably whole threads devoted to uncovering the deep spiritual meaning in 'Hello Mr. Zebra.' I'm actually not joking, there probably is.

At least you didn't use Ani DiFranco lyrics. You'd get all the angry "wimmin" out of the woodwork for that one--complete with pitchforks and restraining orders from Ani herself!

And the best part comes from their user info (in which they also have a graphic claiming to be an "anti-elitist" Tori community:

Stop the monopoly! If you don't like the vibe in some.....um.....other Tori communities, [info]torigirlsoflj is the healthy alternative!

If you would like to become a member, e-mail me at torirequest@yahoo.com and, if we aren't overcrowded, I may add you as a member. But if you like Tori, and you don't call her the "Faerie Goddess Queen" like certain people, and you are neat, then you should e-mail me.

Soooo...this is the HEALTHY alternative? Saints preserve me from the unhealthy ones.

Well...they used to tell us margarine was the "healthy" alternative to butter. Or Spin was the "healthy" alternative to Rolling Stone. Or, heaven forbid, Jessica Simpson was the "healthy" alternative to Britney.

I think I've made my point.

I've been checking for the reaction. Which appears to be removal of the original post (what, editing it was too difficult?) and this response. My only comment is no, honey, it's a snow penis. Livejournal will not shut down your community for it. Though they might have done so for the hotlinking that continued after a request was made to remove the icons.
