Priorities, Yay!
Note: I made a one-line "WTF?!" comment in this one, so if over that it belongs in [info]i_wank, I'll move it there, but I don't think so.

Over on Lost_TV, a big LJ comm for discussing the new show Lost, [info]healingwinds posits:

If ABC interrupts my teevee with this election crap tomorrow, I will seriously lose my shit.

Seventy comments later, watch as newly minted fans:

- Can't disguise the boggling

- Become instantly sarcastic,

- Offer polite but firm reality checks, and my favorite:

- Issue veiled suicide/ death threats and bird-flipping icons!

Canadian fans then chime in and offer patient, diplomatic sympathy as only Canadian fans truly can.

A few people wear the FUCK YEAH I CARE MORE ABOUT THE TV SHOW THAN THE ELECTION badge with pride.

Finally, in a development that is both shocking and appalling (it's shapalling!), [info]msallegro makes the most sense. I repeat: WTF!!!

I can kinda understand where he's coming from.

It is annoying to have a show you really like interrupted because some newscaster has to pop on and tell you that nothing's happened yet.

I mean I don't mind news interruptions if somethings actually happening.

Did that make any sense?

It actually makes me happy that most of the people there have a "Um, no." reaction rather than "How dare the state of my nation take precedence over a show I can see in reruns?!" reaction.

Yes, getting a show interrupted for a news bulletin is annoying (especially if it just ends up being nothing but talking heads), but do these people have any idea how vacant they sound? Even to the rest of the equally-geeky forum?

Granted, though, by 8pm tomorrow night, the likelihood of there being any new developments in the election is remote... But the network might keep the newsguys on, anyway.

Hell, I was watching CNN part of tonight and they didn't have much of anything to say then. If it's not decided by tomorrow morning, then we're probably in for a looooooong wait again.
