"Don't wish to offend anyone..." **looks around** Too late....
Tribe fans are well known internally for being rather proud of the countries they come from for the most part. A thread started by Mamma seems to ruffle a few feathers. She reposts a rather humorous email she received with a joke about the USA reverting back to British control since we can't seem to hold elections correctly and the rules Americans will follow as a result. Most people get its a joke and have a good laugh. Then the whiners come in, telling people if you don't like the country, don't live here and if you aren't from the USA you can't have an opinion about it. Bonus points for nitpicking over sports played in the USA and whether or not they are played internationally.

ETA: Bonus "Bush is an idiot" / "Oh yeah, prove it!" wank sparked by a graphic.

Hehehehehe....I've run across a few good fics in the fandom....My friend Jess hosts quite a few really good ones on her site called "As The World Falls Down" (just type the site name into a search engine, cant be arsed to actually go look up the link).

And as to Guardian pron, I take it you've never read "The Shim and His Pet", have you? I officially scarred for life from eating powdered donuts and hot dogs thanks to that piece of work.

The poor spelling? The hypocrisy? The illogical reasoning?
Submitting the Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Expos as proof that other countries play baseball?

People who can't use their keyboards correctly need to stop knocking America, or just fucking move away and be done with it (the public education system here isn't THAT bad, I mean really - you should be able to figure out how to spell if you can figure out how to use the internet). I don't care how much I dislike the presidential administration, I'm not going to start talking about how much I hate it here, because I know how much worse it really could be, and because I recognize the fact that both parties need to undergo serious reform, and the burden of that lies on those in MY generation.

Yeah, I agree. The guy who was all, "OMG somebody posted an amusing article that made some cracks about Americans! OMG I write long patriotic essays now!" is annoying and wanky. But I understand his irritation at the grammar-challenged morons who think that posting "haha amerika sux LOLZ!!!!" comments to an Internet message board makes them cool special rebellious people.

Actually, I'd be totally on board with the new beer rules, if the word 'gnat' were spelled correctly. The Hollywood casting rules, the 'bleep' ban, and insistence on showing the original British comedies are fine by me.
