Hail to the Wank
(I'm popping my wank cherry here and am not a member of political_wank, but if this is better suited there, I'll move it. Honestly, though, in my mind the sheer wacky devotion shown by JDR's fans makes the Creatrix a fandom unto herself.)

Now, if you've been a member of Fandom Wank or simply lurked (as I have) for longer than a few months, you're probably aware of Jennifer Diane Reitz and the Olympic swimming pool sized tubs of creamy spooge that make up the Unicorn Jelly forums. And what happened on November 2nd? Oh. That's right. Bush won the election.

JDR and the forum kids are, uh, less than pleased. A topic springs up in nearly every sub-forum wherein people wail and gnash their teeth. A forum devoted entirely to politics is created, and there is wailing and gnashing of teeth. A cartoon featuring questionable draft intelligence and even more questionable artistic skill is drawn by JDR. Some dissent (shockingly enough) is shown at the sweeping brush Ms. Reitz paints young voters with. Some, however, agree readily with JDR's scribble (unshockingly enough) and claim they are ready and willing to pack their bags and flee the tyrannical dictatorship of Amerika.

Enter Big Earl who really, really, REALLY hates JDR's scribble and is disappointed in how spazzy all the forum kiddies are acting. The forum kiddies spazz at Big Earl. Big Earl spazzes back. And the epic of Unicorn Jelly in its quest to become an event horizon of bukkake continues ever onward.

BONUS WHINE: JDR had a mild heart attack in September or so, and after two months of no heavyhanded comic, she lets everybody know that she's recovering. Also that scary death looms everywhere and drawing said heavyhanded comic while doing absolutely nothing else with her life besides sitting at home and watching anime/playing video games was way, way, way too stressful and hard and caused her heart to try to escape her body.

ADDENDUM: JDR "apologizes" to youth for her comic. But only to the ones that voted Kerry. If they voted for ~~Fuhrer~~ Bush they are still DAMNED EVIL WICKED BIGOTED KKKRISTIAN KKKIDS JUST LIKE THEIR BREEDER PARENTS!

Did I miss something?

I looked around for evidence of this 'new draft' but I didn't find anything to support it.

Hell aren't the only people suggesting a new draft Democrats? And wasn't it shot down?

Though part of me wants to pop in there and say 'Yes JDR there is a draft and what-do-ya-know 40 year old transsexuals with bad eyesight and heart conditions are on the top of the list of people we want fighting in Iraq'.

Yeah, it was Charles Rangel, D-NY, who offered up the bill. He provides some weak explanation about "sparking debate," but seeing as he was the first one to suggest introducing the draft, it's not a terribly convincing excuse. One suspects he was just trying to fuck with the up-coming political race. I may be politically to the left, but that doesn't mean I like being fucking manipulated.

There was a draft bill in Congress (that had been there since 2003) proposed by Democrats (Charles Rangel and someone else) that would institute mandatory service for all men and women 18-26. No deferments. Basically if was their way of trying get a point across to the Republican warhawks who kept pushing for war knowing that their kids would never have to serve. It would have been an across-the-board draft, but apparently it was killed a couple weeks ago. I could be wrong about ALL of this, though.
