Well, I wasn't going to renew my Friends of Josh Groban membership, but they suckered me in with promises of more tour dates and a nifty screensaver. So I will be bringing you all another year of wank!

So in recent news, Usher won at the American Music Awards. And the Grobanites are, naturally, pissed. If this whining were taking place offline, it would probably be hitting notes generally reserved for bat navigation.

Josh will SAVE THE MUSIC BUSINESS:

TennisFanatic20: I do feel sorry for Josh but quite frankly, he doesn't need an award because everyone already knows that he is good. It was pretty certain from the start that Josh would not win because, like the World Music Awards, the AMAs are based on record sales and Josh lost to Usher at the World Music Awards. So in all honesty, he was bound to lose at the AMAs as well. I am just happy that he was able to perform and allow more people to see his incredible talent. He is a gem and without him, the state of contemporary music would be entirely dismal. He is our only saving grace.

Yes its an honor for Josh to even be nominated, but it my opinion, as well as many others, usher has won his share of awards and now its time for someone else to win. too predictable.

The statement that 'we don't call that music' is also the only thing in the whole thread that might be called Usher-bashing.

KimmySwimmy: i didnt think he would win...not with Usher in the category with him. we can go on and on about how any music other than Josh is "crap" or its not "real music" and people can get mad about him not winning, but what is that going to do? Nothing. Josh is not the only musical act out there and if you dont like anything but Josh that is fine, but please do not insult other musicians. I happen to like a majority of the performers that were on tonight and I am sure that other people on these boards do to. Yes, people are allowed their own opinion, but keep in mind that not everyone feels that.

All music is real music (Including Usher... please let's not bash on this site)... Just because you don't enjoy the other stuff that they play does not mean that you should critisize the other stuff... as I explained to my mom, it is not the Lyrics that matter in the music, it is the rhythm and how it makes you feel that counts... and this is coming out of the mouth of a musician and someone who listens to EVERYTHING

I personally am disgusted that people cannot accept that Josh did not win and all the crude things that people are saying about Usher
