Furry vs. Anime wank over at the ANN forums
First wank, don't beat me too hard. I figure that since furries do have a fandom, it fits here.

Anyway, over at the Anime News Network (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com), there's an announcement that some furry fans have created a new, non-for-profit zine called Furtype.

Six pages of absolute spooge floods the thread, complete with graphics and charts. People bash the site (which is ugly, no doubt), the motivations of the magazine, the furry fandom as a whole, the artists who draw for the zine, and everything in between. Tempest, ANN's editor in Chief, seems to be the only one seeing the pointlessness in wholesale bashing of the fandom. Poor bastard.

I loooooooooove anime fanboys who deny rabidly (uh, no pun intended) that catgirls have NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING to do with furries AT ALL EVER. Jesus I'm annoyed that Oprah has her own magazine but I'm not going to start bashing it or anyone who might be interested in it because what would be the point?

ARDIANE-Tiny genie of the pencil who grants three wishes.
KIRIKO-An adventuring martial artist whose looking for 3 magical toasters.
SPACE BOY-A hotheaded esper who's willing to blow up his own ship just to get a milkshake.

I feel about furries the way most normal people feel about anime fans.

There's a lesson in there somewhere, but I can't quite tease it out...

I believe it's something to do with pots and kettles, but I'm not sure.

I dont' really mind furries. I'm not one myself, BUT 1.) anime has TONS of animal/anthro characters (in addition to the ones you've already listed, I'll have to include Yôko Kurama, who has TONS of fangirls/boys) and 2.) that fanzine (objectively) SUCKS. Blatantly robbed ideas make me puke. At least ani-paro dj artists, as well as fanfic writers and fan artists, CREDIT the original creators...
