if i were a troll going to a site i was not welcome at, for no good reason, i certainly would not have admitted to having a mental disorder. she asked for that one, and there apparantly is something wrong with limeysugar. digthatbloom was nasty with all that cussing and overblowing the issue, but limeysugar had no business being there in the first place. i support digthatbloom, she had every right to protect her site against a troll with mental issues and nothing better to do than cause trouble. Don't stick your hand in a fan if you don't want to get it cut, duh.

right, but digthatbloom brought up the word "bi-polar" in jest, just like people do in flamewars all the time-- "your obviously off your meds" etc. right after she said the word bi-polar, LS responded with

There's no way DTB could have known anything about LS's personal issues until LS totally confirmed it as fact./// so at the point, all bets were off. a fair fight is a fair fight and if you are dumb enough to give your adversary information about yourself of a deeply personal and embarrassing nature, then it's not too realistic to think it won't be used against you. and DTB didn't use the information against her anyway, she ended the war by not responding to LS after that. so what's the big deal?

look, i'm not saying it's right to belittle someone with a serious mental illness. it's not a laughing matter, and shouldn't be taken lightly. but LS brought it totally upon herself by being somewher for the sole purpose of starting a fight, and then and by actually volunteering the info that she's bi-polar. as i see it, there is no foul on DB's part, it looks like total fair play. below the belt maybe, but fair. as for the homophobic comments, those seemed more like a personal thing aimed at LS in particular, not homophobia in general. again, if your in a flamewar and you admit to being bisexual, that's just more ammunition for your opponent, right? politically incorrect mabybe, but fair. war is hell.

i just think these crocodile tears for LS are kind of silly, particularly since she's the one who started up in the first place. people should take responsibility for their own words. what goes around comes around.

That it's the ill/gay person's fault for being made fun of because they mentioned it? Nah, don't buy it. that only helps reinforce the idea that bi-polar/bisexuality/homosexuality et al really are things to be ashamed of. Like

I don't buy this either. If you use a homophobic insult, you're grouping the person you're insulting in with a class of people that you find inferior/disgusting/whatevever. It's not on. Don't try to tell me that something along the lines of, "carpet-munching cunt" isn't offensively homophobic in general. Please.

I'm not crying "crocodile tears" for LS, I don't think trolling is kosher, and I've stated that elsewhere in this post. However, I find DTB's comments far, far more offensive than the concept of trolling.

	i don't agree with you guys, but points well stated. in my opinion, digthatbloom one that one fair and square. she intended to squash limeysugar's trolling, and unless LS is back at katehate starting up again, then she succeeded. maybe not admirably, but she won that fight fair and square. homophobia notwithstanding.
