Stalking, Hitler, bannings...Oh my!
A recent catfight brawl has broken out in the normally serene Starsky & Hutch fandom - my main fandom.

Two fans, Cyn and Helene, have had the nerve to question or make fun of everyone (including such BNF's as Flamingo and Suzan Lovett).

Cyn and Helene challenge other S&H fans' judgment, scruples, writing skills, their ability to publish zines, hold conventions, sing songs at conventions, create artwork, etc. The wank never ends.

It's gotten so bad that one person even broke Godwin's Law calling the two women "mini Hitlers" on the S/H Venice Place list. (Wait it gets better, it seems that Cyn actually is related to a former Nazi - her grandfather - and she took offense to that comment.)

The uproar began when Cyn created a new S/H mailing list called SHFandomcircle.

The groups's purpose, you ask? "This group is dedicated to Starsky Hutch and the fandom which has sprung from it. Here you can post stories, talk about other lists, other fans, snark about the fandom, review stories and just about whatever happens to cross your mind at any given moment. I'm just a mod. I'm not a fandom queen, I'm not a zine publisher or a zine editor. I'm not even a beta. I'm just a fan who is very opinionated and enjoys a good discussion...

Names can be named and no one is looking to force someone to go with the rest of the crowd. Cursing is welcomed and encouraged if venting is needed. This is a place to speak your mind even if you believe it to be an unpopular viewpoint."

However, it seems the only snarking that can be done on the new list is by the list admin and her unnamed co-moderator, Helene. While there are tons of wanky moments in their mailing list archive, it seems recent battle(s) spawned a 'parody' story.

In this thread, Cyn writes a story that mocks and defames most of the fandom and it's main mailing list (Venice Place), including said owner of that list and many long-time S/H fans, so when people show up to lodge their complaints, Cyn calls S/H fans "stupid."

However the funniest part is when an anonymous writer posts an
epilogue
to Cyn's story. In it Cyn and Helene's 'characters' (Thelma and Louise) are killed off.

Cyn cries foul, you stole my story! Plagiarist!

And what's a good wank without anonymous mouse post?

Finally, Fandom_Wank is mentioned. Cyn thinks being named on it will make her 'famous:'

"Wow, I forgot all about this! Does that mean you're gonna make me famous? I mean you put a link directly to them! You know you've really made it when that happens. ;) "

The wank rulz the world - and makes you infamous too!

To recap: we've had mentions of Hitler, fandom wank, stalking, anonymous posters, people being banned/moderated from lists, bad fandom parodies stories, name calling, newish fans vs. old school slashers, etc.

All we need now is a death threat, a sockpuppet and we'd hit the motherload of all wanks in one sitting.

While I am on the Venice Place list and I did post a couple of times about this wank, I didn't post this on [info]i_wank as I didn't engage in any fighting with the two wankers. Mostly my comments were, "Why has this NOT made Fandom_Wank?" After waiting a couple of days and not seeing it here, I figured I'd nominate it. If you think I should move it to [info]i_wank, let me know.
