Current mood:*sporfle!*

With the announcement that the Phelps Twins and Devon Murray are not going to appear at the FX "Greatest Show on Earth" event in Florida in January (even though the event is claiming they are), wank is splashing all over the news comments section on Mugglenet. People complain that this news story is lame and a waste of space, people insulting the actors and their talent, nationality bashing, conversations range all over the place, and FizzyWizzy seems enamoured of posting random comments.

PS- If they shut off the comments to this like they did with the debacle over the BBC/Church of England post, I've saved the first three pages of comments and will post them.

ETA: Leaky Cauldron, the original poster of the story (who also, from what I understand, contacted the Phelps twins and Devon to confirm), has been invaded by the promoters and staff of the show in the comments section of their news story post.

Two new words I learned from those comments:

"Chav" and "wigger"

Ya wha'?

If I remember correctly from the pathetic posers at my college, "wigger" is, tackily enough, short for "white nigger", aka rich white kids who like to act black and dress black but would run in fear at the first sight of any actual real life African-Americans. See also: Jamie Foxworthy is Malibu's Most Wanted. An affliction often suffered from oversexed frat boys, "wiggahood" seems to have no cure except a swift kick in the ass.

I'll tell ya, the things ya learn online! "Wigger" brought to mind an image of some old guy with a badly fitting hairpiece but I guess not!

Right. No one cared the first time, so reposting the link again and again will certainly help a lot.

How on earth are we supposed to know? This is Fandom_Wank, not Sage_Advice.

Funny, and yet flattering. Maybe if we set up a "Ask Dr. Fandom_Wank" board we could charge money for being rude to advice-seekers?

It's a piece of writing which forms part of a portfolio of work for which that girl won an award on Scholastic's site. I'm guessing it's possibly fictional as there's a slightly bitter tone off it. You can see the rest of her portfolio here:

Happy? ;)
