Livejournal wankdom . . .
(this also happens to be my first post, but I've enjoyed the wanks here for a while)

There are rumors that six apart is going to buy livejournal.

This apparantly has some live journal users worried enough to start questioning this on the livejournal status boards.

The board owners delete the initial posts.

[info]soleta asks why she can't ask questions.

[info]njyoder calls someone a 'Commie troll'. [info]2am_waffles points out that the issue is actually capitalism, and they're a lot more in favor of freedom of speech than any stinkin' communists.

[info]njyoder then starts questioning why others on the thread are thanking Brad for actually 'doing his job' to keep LJ working.

[info]terestai criticises the general 'culture of being expected to be waited on hand and foot . . .

And it deteriorates from there - only 45 responses at this point, but a lot more than I've ever seen on an LJ status post before

Amusing how njyoder is all up in arms about 'freedom of speech' until someone says something he/she doesn't like. Then s/h/it's all 'No! How dare you deign to thank this person! Horrible, horrible it is!'

Oh, him! S/he annoyed me when s/he pulled out the "OMG LIBERAL ARTS DEGREES ARE USELESS YOU'LL NEVER HAVE A JOB HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE?" card on mock the stupid (I think) a while back. Being a liberal arts whore, I wasn't exactly pleased. Not a real critical thinker there.

I've been participating in the journal "craze" for less than a year. In that time, I haven't spent much of my online time learning about other journaling sites unless they've been mentioned here (like Blurty, LJ, DJ).

So, what is the difference between something like JF or LJ and a blog? I always assumed they were the same thing, just with a different name, and I gather that's not the case.

Wow, I must say I'm quite impressed. You guys are so offended by me on such a deep level that you feel the need to engage in this circle jerk. Maybe the reason you're so offended by my paganism and liberal arts comments is because they are true. True drama posts, LJ Drama style, are done simply to point out drama they find amusing NOT for the purpose of getting emotional reassurance that you are right when you've been deeply offended.

Seriously, don't fool yourselves into thinking you're doing anything here other than patting yourselves on the back because you're so deeply offended by me.

P.S. Grow up and get a real religion, spells and fairies are for kids.
