As for my smackdown, why thank you. ::bows:: I just think tiamatschild is being utterly silly about the whole thing. Honestly, novanumbernine even admitted that the wingfic started as a joke. Why the hell tiamatschild is taking your dislike of wingfic as such an affront to her delicate artistic sensibilities, I don't know. I think her lover's molting.

I asked everyone if it was moulting or molting and they all said moulting. It probably didn't help that they were all British and Australian. Grr. But it's okay because Merriam Webster says it's a variant of molting! Yeah!

Novanumbernine is driving me nuts though. She seriously thinks my essay is All About Her and is just dying to be a consecrated martyr. Sigh.

I am American, therefore it is molting for me. But the British spelling makes the icon even snarkier, which is always a good thing! After all, the British invented the term wank. I wish I were British; then I'd have a kick-ass accent instead of this bland Yankee one. It's not even a cool Yankee accent where I can say New Yawk. No. It's a crappy bland one. ::kicks it:: Why aren't you cool, accent? WHY??

And Nova seems to be a nice yellow-winged chickadee... with a bit of a martyr complex, yes, but essentially, er, nice. Then again, I wasn't called a dozy biscuit. (Drat.)

Well, you know...whatever makes 'em feel important. If nothing else, the 'net is the best place to see the All About Me syndrome in its purest, most undiluted form. It's probably because the anonymity gives us an out from those annoying little social niceties that keep us from making a scene about everything being All About Us in real life.

And welcome, Amasaglajax! I second the love for your smackdown. I love fanfic, and I've read some beautifully written fics that have taken my breath away, but sheesh how self-aggrandizing can we get?
