Furry wank! :D
I guess furries count as a fandom. Or something. *shrug*

Anyhoo, over on everyone's favorite LJ comm, [info]metaquotes, [info]wahooweena posts that she's still giggling over a comment made on the LJ news feed that goes a little something like:

[info]arfuni: I was actually just thinking how absurd it was that a man likely to now be a millionare was posting replies to a furry on the internet.

After a few calm replies, the shit-slinging starts. Bonuses include: comparisons between furries and lesbians, stamp collectors, Catholics, childfree, vegans, bus drivers, Trekkies, librarians, and sociopaths; the oppression of the furries; and my personal favorite, the Raphael screwing April O'Neal icon.

BLAHA!

[info]jasperboi: No, the mark of a sociopath is a straight white male who is so pathologically unable to take responsibility for the position of privilege he occupies in the world that he has to start MAKING UP SHIT about anthropomorphized gophers so he can claim he is "oppressed" whenever someone calls him on his shit.

Not that I necessarily agree, but HEE.

I admit I am a tad puzzled as to why asian lesbians can't be sociopaths.

Heee. I was going to i_wank that if she'd replied bitchily to me, but oddly enough she de-wanked after I pointed out her color scheme was crap, and how can you be pissy at a standard LJ scheme if you're using one yourself?

I don't know, perhaps my leet S2 skills impressed her into shutting up? (I say feh, my journal still needs a ton of work, as it breaks in IE and is murder on dialup. But it's pretty.)

Do stamps actually exist? Do stamp collectors believe they *are* stamps? Do they find their non-existent and/or unable-to-consent stamps sexually attractive? Do they dress up as stamps? Do stamp collectors present themselves as a minority group?

[info]wahooweena's analogical skillz warm my soul.

Can anyone tell me why whenever anyone compares a situation one is in to an analogous situation, some imbecile always jumps to the conclusion that they're comparing themselves to the people in the other situation? Is it so impossible to distinguish between actions and identities, especially when it's the actions that are being compared, and the identities are incidental?

Just goes to show how eagerly people will volunteer to feel offended these days.

That's a rather boring example of furry bashing, heh. And yeah, the widespread unneeded hate on what is just another diverse group of geeks is a little annoying, but dude, anything I do is gonna get laughed at by somebody on the internet, so what? Some dumbass giving me shit on a message board or something 'cause I like anthro art and occasionally anthro pr0n is not the same as, say, how I might be physically attacked for holding my girlfriend's hand in public in some places, and how I can't marry her.
