There may be a freak case or two, but the vast majority of female gamers dont know what it IS to be dedicated to something. On the day they get a blister from Pop'N Music from playing all day long, or the day they fuck their wrist up from a bad tekken 5 stick, that will be the day I will accept them as gamers and not a freak oddity to be crushed."

Funny. I know quite a few girls who would wholeheartedly agree with that person, and be all "only guys go mad about games like that". Unfortunately they don't consider odd smelling game addicts with tekken wrists teh r0xx0rs like he does, so there's no happy end to this story.

I remember when I was small, my mother would stay up till late in the night and play this one particular car rasing game on our Famicon, and the sound would keep me awake. She'd do this for a few weeks, give up because she got blisters on both her thumbs, and when they had gone away a few weeks later have a go at the game again ... and repeat this process ad infinitum.

Ah, childhood memories. I never was as big a gamer as she was.

My sister. Tore all the skin off the heels of her hands playing Mario Kart, and then played some more with the oozing blisters.

While I never went that far, one Christmas break I spent a week or two playing Final Fantasy VII twenty hours a day from start to finish. Straight, btw; that was the time I beat Sephiroth without Knights of the Round. I also spent six months fighting my way through the Cave of Trials on Star Ocean 2 despite the fact that my PlayStation kept freezing up and costing me all the progress I had made, so that I could beat Indalecio Celesta. My boyfriend got me Final Fantasy 10 for my birthday, then complained that the game had "stolen his girlfriend" because he couldn't pry me away from the PS2 until I had finished it.

But I'm sure this guy knows best about girls not being gamers. Maybe I'm not really a girl after all....
