Posting here, but might be more appropriate under [info]political_wank. You make the call.

I read in the NY Post today that Kristin Chenoweth is performing at Bush's inauguration later this month. That makes me like her less as a person.

There are cries of "Why, Kristin, why!?!", suggestions that it may just be a career move, questions if she's actually a Republican, or a Catholic (to which the OP, [info]explorateur, responds "If she's Catholic then statistically she should be Democratic. And plus, The Bible belt isn't really accepting of catholics."). There's the OP disagreeing with everyone who disagrees with her, and patting those who say they like Kristin even more now on the head, because their opinions can't possibly be as important as hers. Plus, this happens and the OP loses it. 201 comments in all.

Meh. I can't see the actual discussion at the mo', but going on what's here, I can see her point. HOWEVER.

On the other hand, why do you have to like an /actress/ "as a person"? At least with authors and singers and whatnot you can bitch about their sneaking their eeeeeeeval agenda into everything they do. But actresses? When she stars in "Saint George W., Defender of Men: The Musical", then boycott her, till then, chill out and STFU.

good lord, even I could've guessed she'd support Bush (I don't mean that scornfully; I just had always heard she was conservative or had that idea) and I don't remotely care about her or 'Wicked'. If these people are such fans, is this really the first time they're hearing she's *gasp* a Bush supporter?
