GAFF Christian Zombie Jesus wank
More wank from Godawful Fanfiction. It's very small and it will probably die out. GAFF has a tendency lately to be all lovey dovey and let's not snark at each other because we are better than that and let's not even disagree with each other instead let's share M&Ms and cuddle.

It all starts when TheScornfulRoman posts a link to an admittedly stupid story about Jesus returning as a zombie. In the good old days of GAFF, what might have happened? Some snarky comments perhaps..... snark about the story but not the author. Posting of choice godawful bits and then making fun of the godawfulness. But in the fashion of what GAFF has become, (meaning Wanky,) instead people are outraged and horrified and self righteous. (Seriously, what happened to GAFF, it used to be all snark all the time.) Matrix Refugee says, "Hands off someone whom I not only admire, but Who is my Deity incarnate! "

Along comes Tilly who is semi known for poking people with a pointy stick and she pokes the Christians. Not nice. (And at the same time, drags real person fic into it.) Then Miss Kitten pokes Christians a little, and Deepgirl mentions, At least Shaun Of The Dead didn't make fun of Jesus!

Some highlights include, "was Jesus real or wasn't he", "does this count as real person fic", EileenK98 obxerving that she hopes this person is ready to go to hell, Matrix Refugee cowering in the corner because Tilly poked him/her and then Tilly poking him/her even more, some good "hands off The Bible" protests, VelvetBlood poking a little more, "is this a parody or not" debate, a mention of the famous rape story writer "Pred", and how could a wank be complete without "Muslims would cut your hand off!" and the "how dare you generalize Muslims!" part!

Don't poke the GAFFers. They used to be fun, but now they're ubersensitive.

This isn't a parody. It is a stupid, disrespectful, blasphemous distortion of the central tenet of Christianity-- that Christ rose on the third day, having made an atonement for the sins of humanity.

Is that logical structure complete? I think there ought to be a contradiction somewhere in there to make it work?

My brain immediately zoomed in on the scene in Shaun of the Dead where they try to beat a zombie to death with pool cues to Queen's Don't Stop Me Now - then I replaced the zombie!zombie with a Jesus!zombie ...

I'm relieved to know that not only does Matrix Refugee hold Jesus as their Deity incarnate, but they also admire Jesus. Because one without the other would be like Frosties without the ice cold milk.

Compared to some great religious flame-fests GAFF has seen in the past, this is nothing.

Heh. I guess my brother and I wouldn't be very popular over there. We walked out of The Passion, which we saw with our mother and his wife, and he said "Next. Passion 2. Gesu's Revenge." I laughed my ass off, and earned lots of very disapproving looks from the general populace.

Mm... Christians getting in huffs over tasteless fanfiction. I love laughing at them when they go around stomping on molehills as if they were dangerous icy cliffs leading to painful oblivion on sharps rocks below.

As for the fic... Zombies? Bleh. So overdone everywhere else, I'm not going to bother reading it. Now if it had been Werewolf!Jesus I might have been interested.

I enjoy the GAFF from time to time but it's nowhere near as much fun as it used to be about 8 gazillion boards ago.

Just because something makes fun of (general)your deity doesn't make it GAFF. Bad writing and a plotline from Hell does.

Shadsie: Fandom_Wank... well, I personally think it's full of malicious people who have nothing better to do than to complain about other people. People on there have been cruel, have taken wank off the site to other places, hounding people they don't like. Not everyone there, of course, just some members and anonymice. In short, I think the population of Fandom_Wank are, generally, a bunch of loosers.

Me: And that's different then GAFF how? It isn't considered anymore nice over there to poke Teh Crazy for the sheer hell of it then it is for us to go over to FF.net and post 'your story is being talked about at GodAwful.' Sure, it happens, but it's been happening here, too. How many authors have gotten hurt because we've trashed their stories, or, as in the case of this thread, wished they were damned to hell? Wishing damnation on someone seems pretty mean to me. Both forums are pretty mean, and I don't know about you, but I'm actually okay with that.

GAFF and F_Wank have similiar purposes, just different targets. GAFF is here to snark and vent at the dumb fics that infest its fandoms, and F_Wank is there to to snark and laugh at the dumb wanks that infest their fandoms. I'm a GAFFer and a F_Wanker, and really, I don't see all that much difference between them.

And yeah, I'm splooging all over the place so I guess I better stop for now.
