It seems that the "death" of John Goodman has been a bit exaggerated. Favorite part:

Is it against the law to make articles about celebrities being dead and passing them off on the Internet as fact? I don't want to go to jail. :(

EDIT: Can someone else host the article? I'm scared now. :(((

Update: the story has hit Defamer, who got the screen cap I was too lazy lame to get.

The sad thing is, I believed it at first--given how the man's been looking lately, it's not too far a stretch--until I kept reading the comments and noticing it wasn't being reported anywhere else.

Granted, I should have raised an eyebrow when they listed his alma mater as Southwestern Missouri State University (It's "Southwest", not "Southwestern"), given I went there for a year and a half myself. Hmm...

Yeah, at least with "epik" you can argue you think it can go either way like Eric.

That was my first thought, too. I don't think his doctor would have pronounced him in "fine health".

It's Affton. 2 F's. We don't have much but at least we have him :). It's 10 miles away from downtown St. Louis. Oh, and we also have bowling. And bad karaoke bars... Are you sold yet? :)

Of course that is in STL proper... but it could be worse... he could have been from Waynesville or St. Robert.

I JUST MET HIM!!!

Okay, so John Goodman went to Affton (my) high school--he graduated around '68. Tonight my school district celebrated 150 years, and I went up to the high school to watch their program. I was gonna go to a friend's house to shoot some pool so I decided to leave around 9 o'clock. I walked out of the auditorium and there I was, standing about 15 feet from John Goodman! I looked at him, realized who he was, and said, "Hey!...You're that GUY!" And he said, "Yeah, that's what they tell me; I'm that guy..." It suddenly dawned on me that I had just said the most retarded thing ever, and I think I might have annoyed him a little. So then I walked away. His friends/bodyguards/whatever were still laughing.

We make a very special brand of loser down here, but you're right...we're not doing livestock like they do out in Waynesville.

HEE! That's awesome!

I met him briefly a zillion years ago in a lifetime far far away - in Sauget, IL at an afterhours club. He was cool. :D

Waynesville IS scary, but I lived on the base. I only had to graduate with the cowfuckers. But the really scary people live in Rolla. :P

Well, ex-SMS. I went there for three semesters, nearly flunked out due to mental illness-related stuff, then went part-time at a community college for a semester before transferring elsewhere.

Have you counted the number of Brown Derby liquor stores within a five-mile radius of campus? It's insane.

Agh. Sounds unfun. I'm just really surprised to meet somebody here who knows the area.

I actually go to MSSU so I haven't spent much time in the Springfield area, but all my friends come from around there, and from the stuff I've heard from them that doesn't surprise me too much, LOL.

I particularly love that the commenter claiming to have reported them, ("it is very illegal") has an open post on her own LJ detailing her stripper friends' night with James Gandolfini and a large bowl of cocaine.

Apparently he's adding random furs to his f-list. Much bashing on furs, otherkin and the like. There are Weres, Furs, Otherkin and thier haters. And, shockingly, he's a good speller.

I woke up this morning to find The Steve and DC Show discussing it on the radio. (I hate them, but the other stations are country.) Apparently, the story was picked up by the AP who ran it without checking. I have to admire a hoax that can do that.

*blinks* While I woke up to the debunking of a similar hoax about Ozzy Osbourne being dead on the radio news, stating that he'd had a lot of hassle about it, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Names mix-up? What's the chance?

Then again, it was before morning coffee. The mix-up might've been mine.
