Hmm... I dunno, I think you still need to correct a complete stranger's grammar in public to reach that status. ;)

Anyway, Percy, I noticed you said you're bilingual too? What's your first language, then? *is always amused at seeing other bilingual folk like her who can kick the ass of native speakers that get all condescending or stupid about it during an argument* :D

	I grew up speaking Italian until I was 15 (but I started learning some English at 13), and we moves over here to live with my Grandparents and Aunt. She taught ESL to Spanish and Italian kids here, but she's been retired for three years, now. Ironically, I just got my citizenship papers two or so months ago. :D (Reply to this)(Parent)

I may yet some day. It will be gnawing at my mind. However, I have to try to think like a troll, and search for the stupidest, silliest, most mockable person I can find who has the most self-defensive personality possible. If I'm going to do something than con permanently mar my psuedoPR, I'm going to get a flame-war the size of a forest fire out of it, man.

I'm with

amasaglajax in the opinion that "words only have the power you allow them to have" (and hence why I don't really agree with going around using an alternate spelling for "woman," because it feels to me like you're acknowledging the supposed "oppressive power" anything with "man" in it allegedly has), but I AM somewhat seeing Percy's point that the original post wasn't exactly u_make_lj_suck material. If the OP had better material to show everyone why the "target" was worthy of being posted there (as this reply would imply), then she should've posted THAT instead.

Anyway, that thread has indeed taken a turn for the wanktastic already - the accusations of Persy being a "troll" for having a dissenting opinion are definite proof of that.

I took a peek at some of the recent entries, and it seems more like the community is "I think you are a loser! Whee! I will snark about you now!" Has it always been like that? The posts were thousands of times better there a few months ago. Lately, it's gone completely down the tubes. And I mean completely.

Formerly, we'd get Cream O' The Crop American History X-style racists, flame-wars between Abercrombie fans, and other such amusing material. Almost like a less-fandomy fandm_wank where nobody was allowed to make actual username or link allusions to the person.

Now we get "I have an axe to grind. So regardless of wether or not I actually suck more than this person *COUGHCOBAINXMORTISCOUGH*, I'm going to point them out anyway."

And people making fun of anorexics and then yelling at you for making French jokes.

I have to ask Percy... How does a commnunity dedicated the slash pairing of the albino tiwns in The Matrix make LJ suck?

I mean I can understand why people might be squicked by that pairing but I don't see the problem with people sharing pics and fic about in a LJ community.

Isn't that kinda the point of these communities? To share something you like with people who feel the same?
