___heavyhorse is a journal on LiveJournal purporting to be the online diary of wayward former Libertines co-frontman Peter Doherty. Most people in the Libs fandom are aware it's an in-joke among a group of the fankids, but occasionally, people aren't sure, as the journal lacks a disclaimer.

This would be one of those times.

It's all innocent mischief as fankids have fun with their joke, until they end up just frustrating those who don't get it.

opiumandtea is really offended by forgiveninasong's tongue-in-cheek assertion that non-believers don't deserve to be Libertines/Peter fans (note Ironic Abuse of Caps).

Witness more scepticism, deliberate imitation of Peter's post format on his own board, Morrissey quotage, and a pool for how long it would take to make it here.

Say what you like about the fandom, Libertines fangirls always know how to bring the crazy. Times like this, I'm actually grateful (instead of the usual "Oh no. Oh nononono." head-desking induced by the more rabid).

I think your translation is slightly biased. Kate Moss has a beautiful soul, too!

It's nice to know that if I want to laugh I can choose Pete Doherty in love REEL LUV OMG, insane fangirls or fandom_wank. Truly, this is the fandom that keeps on giving.

Sorry, I'm just kinda not looking forward to the big derailment coming up any time now. Although I felt really mean that my response to Pete's declarations to ITV were pretty much howls of laughter at everything, from "I can be trusted" to "I mean it when I say I love her" to "I'm kicking drugs for her".

... Yeah.

But come now, surely you don't think he deserves it, just a little bit? I think it'd be really funny if he finally made up something about someone who wasn't Carl, and thus would have no qualms about slapping him with a defamation lawsuit.

Not that I'm saying the Kate thing is all in his head, because stranger things have happened, but there's been no statement from her yet about TRULUV4LYPHE and matching tattoos, and Pete's already been to the tabloids twice.

I laughed at the fact that the unabashed Pete/Carl fanboys at NME sat on the news for an entire week before finally writing up a piece about Pete and Kate.

I kinda pictured them all sitting around the NME offices, all looking at each other in befuddlement. "Pete's dating... a girl? Why? WHY? DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN'T ASK PETE AND CARL LEADING QUESTIONS ABOUT EACH OTHER ANYMORE? WOE!"

The missing word here is 'famous'. 'Famous' girl, because they seemed to have no problem ignoring Dot Allison, but I think doing that with Kate will prove to be a little hard.

Mm, yeah. I also think the fact that Dot Allison was by all accounts a really nice girl had something to do with it, too. (Think he treated her rather horribly in all this, but that's neither here nor there.) Same can't exactly be said for Kate, if the rumours about her being spoilt and selfish and completely up herself are anything to go by.

By that token, nobody freaks out over Carl's girlfriend, either, but then she's not famous, either. And is quite pretty from what I've seen, even if she does look disturbingly like Carl's own sister.
