Batman politics wank
Small wank that's mostly crusted over by now, but still rather amusing.

What with the new Batman movie coming up and all, Red_Kenshin decides to ask the burning question on everyone's mind.

Is Batman a Republican, or a Democrat?

I'm taking a class about that. From what we've determined, those who support Batman are mainly conservative. Batman himself is just fucked up.

Well, Superman and Batman exist in the same universe, and both belong to the Justice League, so I have no doubt that Batman has met Lex Luthor at some point (though most likely as Bruce Wayne instead of his caped alter-ego).

*nodnodnod* Amateurs! They jumped all over metalfaust for insulting the question, but didn't say a word when he called Batman a fascist? Psh. In my fandom...well, in my fandom, they probably don't know what fascism is.

Also, I'm a bit surprised at the person who thought that the bondage-wear is a sign of Democractic leaning. You just know guys like Limbaugh and Hannity get off on being spanked like the bad boys they are.

Batman is clearly a syndical anarchist. As a vigilante who believes the system has failed, he couldn't be anything else (the AU future of "Dark Knight Returns" highlights this quite clearly.)

Philosophically, he's a proto-existentialist with shades of Nietzsche.

And he's a antitransubstantiationalist Episcopalian who has nevertheless always felt a little uncomfortable with the Trinitarian doctrine but thinks the hypostatic union has a certain poetic resonance.
