In case anyone was afraid that after their show was cancelled the wank might fade away, I am here from The X Files fandom to assure you this will never come to pass. At least not in XF.

A brief history: Satina and Shannon are two johnny-come-lately slashers who became infamous in the fandom for boldly mixing their personal lives with their fannish ones, leading to such gems as the five-page header dedication from one of the two (I can never tell them apart) idly wondering about decorating habits of the other, who had just become their new RL lover and who was soon to move in with her and her husband (don't ask), which was quickly followed by a massive flamewar and their first banishment from RaTales, a longtime Krycek list. They later moved onto other lists, and have been subsequently kicked out for their aggressive TMI and over-the-top theatrics, and apparently in August of last year decided instead to create their own list, MKLove.

The description page ALONE is worth its own wank.

This list is a place to celebrate the special connection between Fox Mulder and Alex Krycek of the X-files in a way that brings about HEALING for them, for us, and for the planet herself. It will feature fanfic, poetry, challenges, discussion, artwork, recommendations, and an open, love-based atmosphere of acceptance and fun. Chatter will be encouraged, though it does need to pertain to Mulder and/or Krycek in SOME way. Get creative! You can make it fit. Use lube. ;-)

What makes this list rather unique is that it is LIMITED to stories that contribute to Light and Love and Peace and Healing of our world through the exploration of this exciting, complex, sexy, fascinating relationship. Stories that explore the pain without the healing WILL NOT BE FEATURED HERE. We don't condemn that spectrum of creative exploration, but this space was not created for that.

And we don't talk about what we don't like, here, we just bask in what we do. :-) This is a space of healing, love, peace, and light. We believe that through healing Mulder and Krycek over and over and over again, we heal the world and ourselves. ANGST IS SPOKEN HERE, but only if it leads to healing. Horror, fear, despair, hopelessness, hatred, violence, and pain are all spoken here but ALWAYS in a way that shows HEALING.

We believe there is no horror so deep and vast and terrible that it cannot be healed, and this list explores all the many, many ways that can be accomplished in an atomosphere of positivity and pure Intent.

Yeah, I have no words, either.

For perspective's sake, let's keep in mind this is about fanfic for Fox Mulder and Alex Krycek, two fictional characters on a defunct show. One of whom was SHOT IN THE HEAD in the last season, and the other who rode off into the schmoopy sunset with his female partner and their alien!baby.

But apparently any fanfic about them should be about love, peace and healing. I don't know about you, but those are exactly the three words that come to mind when I think of Mulder and Krycek!

Anyhoo, everything seems to be going along swimmingly when the poor dears realize there is FRICTION on their beloved list! List members apparently want to occasionally talk about fics where sunshine and skittles DON'T fly out of Mulder and Krycek's asses! *gasp*

In response to this, on January 20th, Shannon and Satina make the decision to hand over the moderator reins to another listmember, and to open a NEW list called MKLoveNLight.

LoveNLight. Oh, boy.

Three weeks later, in a sudden reversal (or maybe not so sudden, but I just can't bring myself to slog through all the messages available on the public archive), Satina and Shannon decide to take the list back.



Dear list family,

Shannon and I have had much heartfelt and tearful discussion over this, and with Spirit's help, we've made a realization and a decision. We created MKLove to be a certain thing, and what we see is that it is becoming something else.

Here is what Shannon would like to say:

"This list was created to hold a love energy and be that safe haven Satina envisioned for a fandom too fraught with negativity. Satina and I have held that energy until recently. It's a big job. It's daily.

It's in every breath, every thought, every word, every deed.

It takes the whole community to hold that energy...to want that energy and to support it. But the List Mistress holds it most of all. It takes a strong, clear, perservering intent.

If we lose that intent, if we decide that anyone can come here and say whatever they want, the energy is going to change DRASTICALLY! And I mean down to the group page describing the list itself. We will no longer be able to say, this is a place of only Love and Light. We will have to say something like, "This is a place for free discussion on M/K."

This will NOT be the same place it was. Not even a little bit. It will be like living in a different country suddenly. It WILL be like all the other lists with free discussion. It WON'T be safe and it simply won't be the list that it was in any way, shape, or form. It's deciding that the head outweighs the heart, which is not my choice, belief, or desire.

This list has deep meaning for us and we have profound love for what we have created. Neither one of us realized how much we are still attached to that original intent.

Jynn, we are sorry. We thought we could surrender control to someone else and let the list become whatever it wanted to become, but we were mistaken in that. We are still very emotionally involved with the original intent of this list and we're not ready to give that up.

People joined MKLove based on that intent. The group webpage promises that energy. And we intend to keep on delivering what we promised. The content restrictions we came up with for MKLoveNLight will now apply for MKLove, and we will do away with MKLoveNLight altogether and resume List-Mistressship of MKLove.

Jynn, we very much want you to stay on as a moderator. Shannon and I both deeply appreciate your enthusiasm, spark, and dedication to the fandom, and we very much want you to stay and keep making your wonderful, exciting contributions to the list.

If there is a need for a different kind of list than the one we are running, I would encourage you to create that list and find every fulfillment in running it. And of course, that goes for anyone on the list who feels their interests are not being served.

We just have to follow our hearts on this, as in ALL THINGS, and that means keeping MKLove's intent and energy pure and in total alignment with our own.
