Stargate: "And we're wanking..."
First wank. Use lube. (I didn't even stumble upon it - 'twas pointed out to me by an Anonymouse.)
Stargate SG-1 can't make the kind of claims of LotR or HP, but it sure has its share of wank-downs. ("This wank ain't big enuff fer the two'v us!")
The LJ sgdarkfic is created. Mostly Daniel-centric, and Jack/Daniel darkfic. Sure, fine, yasureyabetcha, whatever.
And two weeks in, it suddenly turns out that the creator holds a grudge against certain authors/moderators from the Daniel-centric board 'Our Stargate'. They are banned from the journal. No posty, no recc-y.
Eh, wanky but whatever. Hissyfits are common in this fandom, meow-booms only slightly less so. Come on, people, just because we sent hate mail politely-worded letters of extreme disagreement to the production/creative crew doesn't mean we can't all be civilised, sane, accepting types, right? RIGHT???
One of the banned mods of Our Stargate takes offence and posts her 'disappointment' about sgdarkfic's behaviour at her LJ. It includes the phrase "Would Daniel do something like this, do you think?" (I love the "WWDD" brigade. Total crack.)
And then the fun begins!
Seems that sgdarkfic went through a phase where she was spamming 'Our Stargate', the mods objected, there were the cries of 'Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!' to which nobody very few people listened, and she went and created sockpuppets.
This all comes out in the wank of course. Who did what and where they did it, who said what and where they said it, who posted what and who oppressed whom! The hands nailed to foreheads and the bitchslaps, the number of warnings sgdarkfic got, the arguments back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and...
Two days later, and it's possible they've finished duking it out. Maybe.
Highlights include wails of "You Did Not Deal Fairly With Me!" and very wordy rebuttals.
Then there's the claim to maturity by someone who hasn't yet worked out punctuation or capitalisation. Oddly enough, I'm not convinced.
It's long. It's mad. It's crazy. It's STARGATE! And the full wanking power of the Daniel-fans...why is it never the Jack-fans who get down and wanky?
IMO, there's no doubt that the OP (sgdarkfic) has the power of the wank on her side. However the OS mods and their cohorts of rebuttal have minor claims to the wank on theirs - for sheer wordiness if nothing else - to say nothing of feeding the damn twit. Oh, and that WWDD deserves a mention. Yeesh. Fictional character? Anyone?
