Read the comment again. riotlounge's problem isn't with slash, but another fan liking slash and saying so. Apparently fan comment will magically make a show suddenly all gay up with massive overt gay, and get those awful crunchy stains all over the rug in front of riotlounge's television set.

This is odd, since -- just as an example -- no matter how many other people seem to adore it, the Stargate that appears on my screen never turns into a good show.

I can kind of agree with riotlounge in some respects; very little makes me twitch like a crazy fangirl making even the straightest of straight guys gay just for the hell of it. I'm of the opinion that there has to be at least some evidence for the pairing in question, and if the poor guy is obviously in love with his female SO, then so be it!

But I've never seen House, so for all I know these two guys are sneaking off to the loo for a quicky during commercial breaks ^^

Not only do they have this gently understanding tenderly complex misunderstood mutual lurve/ respect/ admiration thing going on that the other characters constantly comment on, and have asked Wilson about only to get an enigmatic smile and non-answer in response, but there are no female love interests in sight. None.

I mean, it's not like these people are pulling the subtext out of thin air. You'd almost have to be reaching to make either of them believably straight. :)
