No it wasn't! Her post was saying that she was hurt by the list and she's never liked lists like that.

I wonder if she had been mentioned would she still hate "lists like that" *strokes chin*

It was so veiled that I had to search to see who she meant. Her post (which she's taken down) was about *her* feeling hurt. It didn't mention you, it didn't say you were mean, it didn't encourage people to pick on you. What it did was encourage people to go in and say, "YOu know what? I love you."

Translation: I'm hurt my flist didn't mention me and for that, I'm going to make a self pitying post to make all of my flist kiss my ass with luve.

I got cha! *thumbs up*

There were a few people who said they may not have understood her feelings, but they were *valid*. She didn't say that you were snubbing her; she may have said she felt snubbed, but again, *her* feelings which she has a right to.

Regardless of how she felt, it was wanky as hell to defriend somebody over something so stupid. I give her a 8.33 on the scale of wank.

All I have to today is avoid any anti-Valentine's Day crap. To me, "protesting" or making a big deal about how stupid Val. Day is is one of the stupidest, most immature thing to do. I actually think the people why protest against it actually buy into the "importance" of the holiday more than the people who celebrate it with loved ones.

Yet she's wanking in someone's journal over her friend, pot meet kettle!

	A lot of people in a lot of these fandoms need to learn the simple life-lesson of: GET OVER IT. Getting out of the house and socializing with people beyond the internet would help, too. That would be a lot of defriending, considering it was a "Secret Admirer" meme -- everyone on your f-list is a suspect in the No Love Sweepstakes.

Easier to give the organizer the boot, I guess.

Even though I participated, I can see how this falls under the emotional territory of popularity contests and award wanks. Betcha there wasn't one of us not only searching out our name and how many mentions, but scouring every other name and counting up the mash notes, seething all the while.

But then I realized how incredibly stupid that was and went back to writing p0rn. *cough*

Really? *scratches head* Damn, but I always think of these things too late. I should have sent myself a few. ::: snaps fingers :::

I have close to 500 people on my f-list and got two mentions. *shrug* I also submitted only around five, because there was a loose limit on the length of submissions. I think you weren't supposed to name more than five to eight friends, so sure, tons of people will sink to the bottom of the glass.

I didn't put any stock in this meme as a true test of popularity (whatever that is) since it was spur of the moment and not as well circulated as it was last year. A lot of folks are falling out of the SV fandom so sure those people in the OPs close-knit circle are going to get more love.

It was a V-Day circle-jerk, that's all. Unfortunately, the SV circle isn't what it used to be in the good old days.

	I don't think that's true. When Madelyn said that a lot of people who got mentions sent notes in themselves, she was saying that's how karma works - give love, receive love. All the messages were by email, so commenting anonymously would have required a sockpuppet email account. Could have happened, but I doubt it was widespread. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
