I [Don't] See Gay People (She Just Knows They're Not)
Well, the dear Everwood fandom finally had a wankfest of its very own.

[info]luv2teaze wrote an entry in the Everwood LJ community about the rumours that Marcia Cross will come out of the closet-- and bring someone else with her.

the reason I found this interesting is because Anne Heche (Amanda, Andy's new love) was once gay too. Hm.. kinda ironic, eh?

And they said that her g/f might be Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls or Lori Loughlin from Summerland (both WB shows too) butttttt I doubt it! They don't seem gay at all. =/

Some people approve of Lauren Graham playing for their team and others are horrified.

And, as you can imagine, people jump in to ask how a person looks gay and to say how offensive it is to say that Anne Heche USED to be gay.

Others? Just can't understand English.

Meanwhile, [info]luv2teaze ok first of all you need to chill the heck out. the purpose of this entry was to share some everwood/celebrity gossip, not a personal attack on you.

second of all i said "aunt becki" because it was a joke. that's how i think of her, even when she's on Summerland now. I don't want her to be gay because I still picture her with Uncle Jesse and 2 little twin boys, even though that's just her character. it takes a good show to actually make you believe that the characters are real.

third of all, all i have to say is that both rosie o'donnell and ellen degeneres "act" gay to me. Lauren and Lori are always with men, flirting with men, etc. They don't look gay either. Now I suppose you're going to say that not everyone gay looks like it. I know. But you asked what I meant, and I'm telling you.

Later, she goes on to say how much Full House seems like a real family to her, she's been watching it for so long! Oh, and btw? She loved last week's episode, just to make her post on topic.

i also hope lauren graham isnt gay. i dont have a good reason, and im not homophobic. lezzis are fine with me, its just you think you know a person and then wham! they trick you. but i guess i dont really know her, do i? its lorelai i know, and i love her. ok lauren can be gay but id really like to not think about it so lorelai can stay straight.

Bwah! I have no words. And she has no capital letters, seemingly.

'you think you know a person and then wham! they trick you.' Hee. Apparently we're now required to tell everyone we meet so as not to trick them. Okay, and I'm more amused by the idea she knows Lauren Graham. 'ok lauren can be gay'. I'm sure she appreciates your permission. I don't know, the whole post struck me as very amusing.

Used to be gay

and to say how offensive it is to say that Anne Heche USED to be gay.

Let's tally up here: Anne Heche came out to the Bollywood press as a gay woman in a committed gay relationship (with Ellen DeGeneres). She and Ellen then broke up and she started dating men and married one and had babies.

Yup. Used to be gay, all right. Or aren't we allowed to apply earth logic to pretty actresses? I guess you could say she was bisexual all along, but that seems to make the gays and lesbians mad, because they know there's no such thing as bisexuals right? You're either in denial or you're just sitting on the fence like the wibbling piece of jello you are.

God forbid someone should be attracted to another human being simply because of their qualities. An underwear check is necessary to see if they are worthy of our love.

Came out to the Bollywood press? What does that mean, apart from Indian cinema? Sorry, I am out of the loop. This is a serious question :)

I don't think anyone was arguing that Anne Heche is still 100% true blue gay in spite of her marriage and babies with a man, or whateva. I think that this comment explains why it might be offensive. Because, what if she splits with her husband and gets together with a woman again? Is she formerly gay, formerly straight then? It's a general question, it's got damn all to do with Anne Heche really.

Don't support the anti-bisexual stuff. It's utterly infuriating that homosexuals fight so hard for equal rights, and then large sections of the homosexual population are as down on bisexuals as heterosexuals are on them. Bastards. They're just jealous that we have more choice.

NO. Not ironic at all. STOP USING WORDS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. Even allowing that there's such a category as "formerly gay" (WTF?) it's just a coincidence, and not a particularly interesting one, at that. Goddammit. I wish Alanis Morrisette death from the collected works of the Greek playwrights falling on her head. And even that wouldn't be irony. It would be poetic justice.

Used to be gay, mn?

This makes perfect sense. After all, my mother used to be straight. Just the time to have four kids. Then she went gay. Or maybe she was in denial all along and she was a fake-straight. Or maybe this has to do with the gay agenda. She's trying to turn her four daughters GAY. It's only half working with me though. *continues lusting at everything that moves*

It's rather sad that our society likes to use labels like that... why not just love whoever you want? Who cares the gender? I'm bi, currently very happy with a boyfriend, but most of my friends (especially the gay ones) think that that means that I've just changed my mind and 'gone straight'. WTF.
