When that post popped up on my friends list, I mentally braced myself for the flames. I mean, Jeez. I could see, kind of, if he wanted to start a community that was like, all male or female, or all pre-1920, or something. Even that would be kind of stupid, but it'd be less so than wanting to start a community with no lj-cuts. Especially after the hassle the community's been through of trying to get people trained to use the damn things.

I love the "well, i thought everyone had DSL or cable, about 80% of the people I know do" response from the OP, when people posted that the cuts make it a lot better for people who are on dialup.

Yes, because your acquaintances are an accurate representative sample of the world at large.

	I just got DSL and while I'm still going "oooooh" at the speeds compared to dialup, I still don't want to wait for a boatload of pictures to load, especially that being, well, a picture community. To me it's just courtesy that if you have naked pix or if you have more than one graphic-containing quiz post, put it under a cut. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	We're in the same boat, man! I got cable, like, a month ago. I remember getting on the net, downloading an MP3, and actually getting up and dancing because it took longer for the song to PLAY than download. But I could just be really geeky. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
