HP Kiddie Porn Wank on GAFF
OK, this is my first wank so be gentle. I was the anonymouse that reported this wank in the Libertines wank thread and since people are discussing it there and in the TORC thread I figured I might as well grow a pair, log in and post.

Over in pornish_pixies, ailei posts a pretty intense, extremely graphic chan/slash/incest/twincest porn story about the under-aged Weasley boys.

GAFF gets hold of it and the handwringing continues for four pages. There are uninformed discussions of the first amendment, plans to contact JKR's legal reps, accusations of unfit parenting, and a GAFF invasion of the story's comment pages.

UPDATE: biichan has learned that the GAFFers notified either JKR's people or LJ and the author has been ordered to remove the story.

Everything else makes sense in a weird GAFF-Logic-Only way , in other words, not at all, but this one is just some other dimension. Where does the racism come in, exactly?

How old are these kids supposed to be? I'm not very HP-savvy, and if specific ages are given in the story or in the freakin long GAFF thread, I must have missed them.

As for the story, it's amazing what impresses people on the internet, especially on LJ.

[yawns] Someone must have spiked the water today at GAFF. This kind of fic is norm for PP, it's wank-off fantasy anyway, and to be honest, the threats of contacting JKR's reps makes me laugh.

*trying to resist urges to vomit* Oh lord. I ended up reading FAR more parts of that fic, just via quotes and such, than I ever could want to. Even though fundamentally the fic's defenders are right, and as long as it's fictional it's not illegal, I still almost can't blame the GAFFers for mobilizing against it... If I hadn't been VASTLY warned in advance my eyes would probably be bleeding more than they are. ;)

Okay, so. A few things. Talking points, if you will.

  • Challenge. Fic. Answered challenge, turned out nastier than I thought it would, and I'm not sorry.
  • Does anyone actually think these feral, mean, horny little beasts are being presented in any sort of flattering light? These kids are seriously not right in the head. Sometimes, the crazy folk they are kinna hot. Not someone you'd want around you, or want to emulate, but yeah.
  • I can debate all day long and back and forth, but when someone brings my children into the debate, I shut it down. I f'locked the post once, during the first furor, and I've just done it again.

    From the quotes I read the story was crap.

    Why does it seem like 99% of fanfics are written so OOC and completely of the fandom base they started on that the author should just put a note up saying: "Hey, I wanted to write some hot smut with pretty, related, underage boys, but I also want lots of feedback so let's pretend they're from this really popular universe K?"

    Maybe this has been addressed before, but how is writing this type of fiction really child porn to GAFF? Isn't the main offense of kiddie porn exploiting an actual kid in a sick way?

    These people are writing about fictional characters. Who's getting exploited?

    Fiction is fiction in my opinion.
