The Jetiswatcher-watcher-watcher?
Remember the HP wank with stalkers, insanity, and really bad spelling? Jetiswatcher, stalker of Jetis?

Well, halogirl8 isn't buying it and accuses Jetis of sockpuppetry.

shaggirl isn't buying it either and wonders why Jetis and her friends are not showing up to defend her honour.

Jetis responds in her LJ (the top post, with the comments turned off):

"And as for skeptics, those that want to keep dragging this ugliness out and posting this fandom bullshit around: Fuck off"

ETA: LJ Abuse deleted Jetis' journal because logging into someone else's journal is a breach of their ToS. However, she's back as Jetamis.

I've always said that Harry/His Wand were my OTP, so you'd fit right in.

As for this wank? Eh. I don't even care if it's fake because other than having almost all of the participants on my flist, it's not like my life was affected one way or the other. I think I'm too lazy to be a wank detective.

Maybe jetiswatcher and jetis are the same person--I don't care to have an opinion either way. But damn, shaggirl and heidi8 have some weird ideas.

LJ doesn't ban people by IP address.

If you report a stalker to LJ Abuse, they'll tell you to call the police because there's nothing they can do about it. (And suspending the journal? Just erases the evidence.)

IP addresses != foolproof ID tag.

I did appreciate shaggirl's sanctimonious little "I hope you know I hated having to post this." Mm, yes, it was so distressing for her, sitting there in front of her keyboard with a masked stranger holding a gun and threatening to blow her kitten's brains out if she didn't drag the whole issue up again. I'm sure she didn't want to upset anyone or start wank, but she had to think about the helpless kitten. It has whiskers.

I'm so confused by this. Did anyone ask or knows how Jetis (pretending that she didn't create the troll journal herself) knows who the trollpuppet is? Why would the troll puppet reveal themselves to Jetis?

Can anyone clear this up for me, or is it a case of pesky Earth-logic?

I did wonder if the whole thing was a have. Because I've been in HP for two years and the only time Jetis has crossed my radar has been when a few of her stories [typical Harry/Draco fare] were recc'd by opiumcoffeebean. I wondered why the hell anyone would stalk her, because she's not exactly a BNF. At all.

A. What is the textbook example of a self-wanker? Do people have books on internet drama? Did I miss the day they handed out manuals? Fuck, I have to start paying more attention to this shit.

B. Isn't the term itself sort of redundant? I mean, you wank yourself, then come the splooge and the funny...Nowhere in the definitions I've read have I seen evidence that you can be wanked by anybody else as it is generally your own fault if you can't help saying something incredibly pretentious.

I really, really hate it when someone exploits/fake a serious crime in order to get attention. It makes things even more difficult for those who are genuine victims of stalking, because people are less likely to believe them. So, way to go Jetis! Hope you're proud of yourself. Bunshole.

From another ETA in shaggirl's LJ:

The IP the anon supplied as [info]jetis's is 205.188.116.66, so no luck for those wanted cold, hard proof. As her ISP is AOL, my understanding is the IP's rotate, and [info]dorrie6 reports below that she has evidence of [info]jetis's doing that. I wish this could have ended speculation conclusively, but it doesn't change my opinion. Wank at will.

ETA 6: Okay, I've now been provided with the whois report on the IP's attributed to [info]jetiswatcher. One is an AOL account and they all trace to Virginia where AOL is headquartered, but the other is an account belonging to the University [info]jetis is affiliated with. And here I wash my hands of it.

I just posted an additional ETA. The Jetiswatcher LJ was reactivated for about 5 minutes and all the posts within were deleted one by one. I'm not sure what that accomplished. It's not like there's any possible way to mop up all the wank at this point, but you got to give her credit for never giving up, don't you?
